Loging TRX?

Hey, I have been logging TRX workouts (I do circuits of 4-5 exercises) as calisthenics because I feel like it's the closest approximation. Anyone have any better ideas?

I think that may be best. I read somewhere that a 30 minute TRX workout burns about 180-260 calories (depending on bodyweight), which I have found to be true. I wear a heart rate monitor and use that to give me an idea of the calories burned. It's not completely accurate b/c HRM are for continuous cardio, but it's better than nothing.0

I think it depends on your level of input and what angle you're doing the exercises at (how difficult). JDHCM2006 is right, the heart rate monitor will help give you an estimate though. When I was doing TRX exercises, I tried to ensure that I would throw in an aerobic component to my routine (maybe high knees, jumping jacks or burpees) between sets to get my heart rate up to burn a few more calories.
Either way, I love the TRX! I hope to get one in 2015.0 -

Too many variables for anything to be particularly accurate. MFP approximation is probably as reliable as anything else that you could try.
About 200-250 calories for 30 minutes is a reasonable approximation, as long as you're consistent about that then you can tune how much of it to eat back over time.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm just starting out so there are days when every calorie counts! I tend to err on the side of over estimating calories in food and under estimating those burned. Since my goal is weight loss I figure I can't go wrong that way.0

In that case, just use the database, or pick a figure and stick with it. A toy with a number will give you a false sense of accuracy.
