    There are a few terms my grandma still uses that are no longer P.C. And make me cringe.

    Parka, grody (I am not sure if it's spelled "grody" or "groty"), cool beans (I still can't bear that phrase!). Dungarees (my dad still uses this word). Probably others I'm not thinking of right now, too.

    I am from the Boston area. We also said Bubblah and Wicked. I wasn't sure if people still say Bubblah or not.

    In addition to the nostalgic ones, and the polite ones... I feel like as a kid I heard racist, sexist and homophobic words fly frequently that now I haven't heard uttered in years.

    I remember my cousin in the south saying he'd gotten in trouble for "cuttin' up" in class - meaning he was goofing off and being disruptive. I always thought that was a cute expression.

    My mom used to say "I have to pee harder than a race horse followed by a glue truck in a gay parade" I have no idea where that came from...

    Slightly different angle, but what about words we still use today that aren't actually accurate to describe what we are doing. For instance, when was the last time you actually "dialed" a phone or "rolled down" a car window?
