When I first opened the app I saw a date, but now I can't seem to find when the app thinks I will achieve my goal.

Please help me.

I don't know where that is but if you go to My Home (in the pc/web version) and then Goals, the last item is Projected Weight Loss. You can do the math from that, or post the details and we can help you. E.g., if it says you're set up to lose .9 lbs/week and you have 12 lbs. to lose, that'd be 12/.9=13.3 weeks or around 3 months, so mid-April. :)

Also, if you like data, you can use a third-party app to track trends. I use Libra for Android; you log your weight and it calculates your average loss pace and provides an estimate for when you're likely to achieve your goal.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.cachapa.libra&hl=en

Unfortunately it doesn't sync with MFP at present. But I like data so I log in both places.

no, that date relies too heavily on what you do each day.

When you complete you diary for the day it say "if every day was like this you will weigh X in 5 weeks". This give you a rough esitmate where you will be in 5 week but it relys on you eating the exact same amount everyday and doesn't take into account normal body fluctuations, its a pure mathamtical esitmate.

Oooh, fun!! I'm a total numbers geek, though graphing and plotting isn't my forte. I kinda dig this. I still wouldn't fully rely on it, but it's free and neat to look at, so no downside.

You can guesstimate by using pretty simple math. When you set up MFP, did you set your goal as .5, 1 or 2 lbs of weight loss per week? How many pounds are you trying to lose? So, for example, if you're trying to lose 20 lbs with .5 lbs per week, you would reach your goal in 40 weeks. That's an approximation, since eating more or less than your goal, or moving more or less than normal, will alter how much your real deficit is.

today mine said that if every day were like today, in 5 weeks I would weigh 42 pounds.

    it is not accurate.

There is also an app called Happy Scale that will keep track of your weight trends and show a chart. You can set mini-milestones, and it will also give you a projected finish time for your overall goal. I really like it.

I use Happy Scale. Overall I like it, but sometimes I find the estimated date depressing. Although sometimes it serves as an incentive-- I want to prove to Happy Scale that I am faster than it thinks I am! So I beat the estimate of my mini goal (160) by a month. As you enter weights, the estimated finish date is revised. Since I lost only .5 pounds in December, it is now telling me my estimated date for my new goal is October! But if I have a good January, Happy Scale will change the estimated date again.

I put in 1400 calories for today to test it and it said I'd weigh about 2 lbs. less in 5 weeks, which seems about right (the math, that is).

How much do you weigh now for it to estimate you'd weigh 42 lbs. in 5 weeks? Are you sure you entered your weight in the right scale (lbs. vs. kgs)? Or is this the mobile app? I know that has some bugs.
