When counting calories for tuna or sweet corn the calories are given per tin. What happens if you don't eat all of the contents, how do you split the calories? :)

If you weigh the food on a food scale before you eat it, you can weigh what is left over. Subtract that amount from the original amount, and the answer is what was eaten - so log that amount. :)
  • Yeah I was going to do that but was wondering was there a different way to do it. Thanks :)

If you know roughly how much is left you can alter the "amount" when you select that food from the database, eg "50%"

If you are going to eventually eat the whole thing (like half today half tomorrow) just split it to how many times you will eat it (within reason, if you eat 3/4's today and 1/4 tomorrow split it that way) it balances out in the end.

I count the whole thing for today. Then tomorrow when I finish the tuna or corn, the calories are already in the diary from the day before.
  • Cools, thanks everyone
