Hello everyone! As you already know I'm Effy and I'm 18 years old. My entire life I have been overweight, and more recently I've made it to an obese BMI and my doctor is encouraging me to lose weight before I developed diabetes, which runs high in my family.

I'm currently 240ish pounds, at 5'6. I'm aiming to lose around 100-110 pounds over the next two or three years, with my first mini-goal to be losing the first 30 pounds by my boyfriend's birthday, which is in May ^^
I'm desperate to lose weight, most importantly I'm desperate to work for the body of my dreams.

I'm changing my lifestyle soon, I will be becoming a vegan (with the help of a nutritionist I'm seeing on Monday) and I'm signing up for a gym membership once I can find a second job. I'm really excited to be in this community and I hope in the next two or three years I'll have the body I've always wanted! <3

Hello Effy (what a cute name!),

I am also aiming to lose around 100 pounds, and I'm 5'5". It sounds like you're taking all the right steps! Good luck with the vegan diet -- I have a lot of respect for vegans, I wish I had that willpower.

I'm going to send you a friend request.

    Hello and welcome!
  • Hey, im basically in the same boat as you but I can't afford a gym membership bc college and living away from home is taking up all my money and time :/ I'm vegetarian, maybe you should ease
yourself into being veggie before you go full on vegan? Anyway I wish you the best of luck :)

I think I'll be fine! I was a vegetarian a few years back and the only reason I stopped was because I was lacking a lot of iron - but this time I'm going to have someone helping me so I think I won't have any problems! ^^
