That final 10-15 pounds

Hey guys/gals,
I've lost about 15ish pounds since I started a commitment to eating clean. Always been a gym goer and ate relatively clean... but not great.
Anyhoo, now that the holidays are over I want to lose that final 10 pounds of fat. How do you guys do it? I'm thinking of just adding some green smoothies to my diet and being extra disciplined with what I'm eating... it's the damn chocolate desserts that get to me.
I've been about the same weight for the past 3-4 weeks but that's mostly because of the holiday eating and social events that come with that time of year.
What do you do for the final few pounds to reach your goal?

Patience, patience, and more patience. My goal is 10-15 pounds this year compared to 52 last year. So in the meantime I'm setting other fitness goals to keep my mind occupied.0

I'm so with you. I've got 11lbs left to lose. I've been stuck on the same weight for 3 weeks now I managed to lose 22lbs in 2mths. But this last bit is hanging on for dear life!
I know it will move eventually. Patience just isn't my strong point0 -
It has taken me 4 months to lose the last few pounds. I finally purchased a food scale and found out that my calorie counting was a bit off. So a scale will help. As both ladies above have said, it also takes patience.0

I have 6 to go and it's been frustrating.0

Which when you talk about as a percentage of fat now left on your body is a heck of a lot different % wise then when your were 35lb overweight. So of course from a straight number it will be smaller but the % should be the same .i.e. I lost FAT % at a rate of .05% per week which =2lb then and now .05% =.5lb. Losing at the same rate just smaller number.
You're absolutely right and I should go back and take a look at my numbers that are currently in there... might be outdated.
You all are correct though. And like you christinev297, I'm not a patient person either!! lol.
I think it just requires a little more discipline. There was some good things I was doing that I stopped doing lately..... eg. protein shake before bed, making protein based desserts so I don't have the high sugar-less healthy type.

Those final pounds always take forever. The guy that does those 30 day lifestyle changes that ate only McDonald's for every single meal gained all that weight from doing it (i can't remember how much exactly) and it took him like 6 months to lose all but 9 pounds from where he was before the 30 days and it took him 9 months to lose those last 9 pounds. For me i went from 185 lbs. To 147 lbs. Almost instantly but then it took almost a year to get to 130 lbs, then i gained it all back and now 4 years later I've gone from 185 lbs. to 150 all over again!0

mmm... so perhaps this is a question for the exercise thread on losing that "stubborn fat"0

Stubborn fat? No such thing. Genetics determine where you lose fat from as you lose weight. To lose stubborn fat, create a slight calorie deficit. Ideally, pick up some form of resistance training to retain lean mass, take weight loss slow and have patience0 -
I want to lose that final 10 pounds of fat.
I'm working on that now. I've tightened my logging and am trying to work out hard and consistently, as I've generally done better getting below 130 or so by focusing on exercise and fitness rather than diet (but holding diet constant).I've been about the same weight for the past 3-4 weeks but that's mostly because of the holiday eating and social events that come with that time of year.
I was for the same reason, but just being very careful about my logging and calories again and I seem to be losing again. I'm also trying to just be patient and be happy for continual progress, even if it's less obvious on the scale than it used to be.

I didn't do anything different. Just logged accurately and hit my calorie goal.0

I just ate at a small defecit, lost .5 a week, lifted weights. My weight fluctuated down, up, down, up. I ended up smaller and fitter with only about a 5 pound loss.0

Right here with you OP! I've been trying to lose the last 10-15 for 6 months and keep getting to the same place. I will bounce back and forth between 2-4 pounds in either direction - really frustrating! Currently I am still up about 1.5 pounds from before the holidays (I've lost about 3.5 since then) and it is due to the extra chocolates and sweets around during the holiday season. Now that all the sweets are gone I am trying to tighten up my diet. I have to remember it is a slower process now that I have less weight to lose. Patience and diligence is the only way to get rid of the last 10-15 my friend!0

That's supposed to say deficit.
