After reading a few messages on the subject i'm trying to understand the science behind it all.
How come some women lose their breast and some don't?
It is my understanding that breast are made of fatty tissue and not fat. In that case you don't lose the tissue, you just lose the extra fat you had there just like in any other part of the body,so you are always left with your 'real' size at the end.
Is that correct?

Genetics determine where on the body fat loss occurs during weight loss, so I guess yes, the end result at goal they will be what they were supposed to. I went from a C to a B, sometimes A depending on brand /kicks rocks

Because we all come in different shapes and sizes.

Some women gain and lose faster around their middle. For some women it's on the hips. Others it's the face, or the breasts, or the thighs, or all over.

You can't spot reduce or spot augment (well, not without surgery anyway). You just tone and reduce the body fat percentage and it will happen in the shape that you happen to be. Embrace it, own it, enjoy it.

I think it depends. I lost inches in my boobs when I lost the weight I did. I think a lot had to do with my weight training I was doing. I had not had a program like that before.

Granted I do not own my own pair of breasts, but from what I've observed women who were busty before chubby tend to maintain more of their size after weight loss. Women who were less endowed prior to weight gain are more likely to lose cup sizes because their breasts grew more from weight gain than from natural genetics.

I agree. I was large chested before I gained the weight...after losing 25lbs, they are still the same size and I don't anticipate that they will get any smaller when I lose 25lbs more. I will be having a breast reduction when all is said and done in order to get them smaller.

Breasts are made up if a combination of breast tissue and fat. How much of each can vary from woman to woman based on genetics. Those woman who have more breast tissue in relation to fat will be less likely to lose size in their breasts.
