Need motivation, help?!

Okay so I have been saying and saying i will lose weight but as much as i have my reasons and motives to do it I can't.
Then I see my horrid pictures, being over weight and not looking glamorous as much as i try and think, i should just do it, but again I DONT!
Starting to feel really down and just need some suggestions from you guys and a bit of support if that's okay?
I want to start going to slimming world but i work unsociable hours and it's a hassle trying to find one when i am available, so im going to use this as support and hope that there is someone out here listening and hopefully going to help!

That's a nice beach in your pic. Put yourself there in your mind. It is June and lots of folks are there. More that a few are checking out your feeling tan in your new swimsuit. (2 piece?). You can make it happen if you really want to. It's really a mind over body duel.0

I know the struggle... The bottom line is until you decide THIS IS IT 100% you will never committ. I did same thing and i have an awesome FREE gym at my work.... What more would someone want right? Well i made excuses everyday for lunch why i was NOT going to work out and yet id HATE how heavy id become after having my son at 39 (no spring chicken) and i was never this heavy. Im going to be honest.. I was LAZY and couldnt get my butt in gear till finally i just looked at the person in the mirror and truly said WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH? I dreaded not being able to keep up with my son someday if he got into sports...i miss feeling good and looking good... Plus i remember thinking it will take FOREVERRRR to lose 50-70lbs but you know what... Time goes by it waits for nobody and in May id rather say i got 20 or 30 lbs off then not ever having started! I have been to the gym faithfully 5 days a week for two weeks and am eating clean. No sugar bad carbs or dairy...ive lost 6lbs in 10 days and although i cant SEE it yet.. The scale doesnt lie and im proud of me! YOU CAN DO THIS!0

Thank you for the reply.. I know I just have to kick myself up the *kitten* but I guess I'm just afraid of failing. If I don't do it now though I'll be older and it will be harder. So I'm going to get into gear!

You need to think of it as a lifestyle chaneg and take it one decision at a time. Will you workout today? Yes or no. If yes, great, you move forward! When you decide what you eat, realize that you have control of that situation. Do you want to eat the snack or not? Is there are better choice? You can do it! It all boils down to one decision at a time.0

Its always a struggle every day, but you know what you want and what you need to do to achieve this, remember it not just about numbers in this game, its how you feel about things, and they can be tiny things too. But will get there with grit and hard work, but it will be worth it, you have taken the first step, saying I need to loose weight, what is you motivation for this? and then focus on that. its what I have to do when I get up in the early hours to work out. I have failth on you that you will get there and smash whatever goals you have, just set small ones then once they are passed move onto the next one.0

The awesome and scary thing about this is that there is no such thing as a motivation unicorn. This is all self-powered, and you therefore CAN do it--but equally, you can decide not to do it. (Have been and there and decided both at different times, lol.)
It's up to you to make the decision and to simply stick with it. You may screw up sometimes, you may not get there as fast as you want, but it all comes down to you. To make it less intimidating, you may want to focus on small goals. Look at the first five pounds, start with simply tracking what you currently eat and then look at what small changes you can make, start walking for 30 minutes per day, etc. If you leap into everything as hard as you can right from the start, you might burn yourself out (or feel that it's too hard to start).
Although we can be inspired by others, can urge ourselves forward with rewards, might think that other people are holding us back, at the end of the day, this all comes down to us. We need to make the right choices as often as we can (you'll hear the 80/20% rule batted around sometimes, proof that you don't have to be perfect, just try to get it right 80% of the time), and then we'll see the results.
For lots of us, seeing those results helps to build a positive feedback loop that keeps us going. You can do it! Make the choice, and move forward.0 -
It seems to me like you are putting too much pressure on yourself and making the whole thing too daunting. Try making baby steps. If I were you I would track a normal week, review it and find small substitutions. Swap the bag of crisps for a portion of seeds/nuts (weigh them first!) or swap sweets for fruit. Find time to go for a walk, doesn't have to be a long trek, even if its down the shops to buy yourself more fruit Its more about changing life habits for the better. And please don't expect to drop loads of weight in your first week, it may only be half a lb or less, but just think it all adds up. And you are making healthier life long habits, so it will benefit you for the rest of your life! Good luck and stay positive! You can do it, just one step at a time.0

Every time you want to give up picture the future you (the one the second poster described). Reaching any goal takes keeping your eye on the prize. Every time you're faced with a choice to eat/not eat, what to eat or whether to exercise picture how that choice will affect that future self.
You can do it you just have to keep what you want at the front of your mind as much as possible. Feel free to add me if you need a buddy.0 -
Just take it one day at a time....one meal at a time....one exercise at at time....one pound at a time....This isn't a sprint...its a marathon to a happy and healthy NEW YOU!

Also a quick note. on your profile page you have your little weight ticker, I would lower that to a short term goal. Having your long term goal staring you in the face is enough to make anyone feel terrified! I recommend setting it at say 20lb to start with? When you reach that extend it to 40lbs and you will already be half way there!0
