Looking to lose 50 more pounds. Doing mostly cardio and starting to lift a little. Is protein bad if I am trying to lose weight and mostly doing Cardio?

You should be doing both cardio and strength training for weight loss. The two combined are quite powerful. And yes, protein is a GREAT idea!0
