Hi, my name is Jenna and I'm about 5'3, 127 lbs and looking for people similar to my diet/lifestyle. I'm active and eat mostly vegetarian. I'm 22 and i used to be around 115. I've always had a lot of muscle and a huge appetite. (i love to cook aha)
The only time I was really 10 pounds less than I am now was about a year ago(my main picture) but it was when I was semi unhealthy and not really eating that much/partying a lot/drinking a lot. I don't know how to lose the last 10 pounds in a healthy way, I'm trying to do eat between 1700 cals but and exercise but so far I'm stagnant. Help!

Weight loss is calories in < calories out.

So, start logging your food,it is incredibly helpful to get a food scale and start to weigh your food, because measuring cups and spoons can be incredibly inaccurate.

Set your loss to .5/week, you don't have much to lose, and slow/steady wins the race.

Well she's right, less calories. Don't increase your exercise. In particular If you reduce your carb calories, you may find you have a diminished appetite. If you reduce your carbs, don't reduce your fat. Don't try to be low fat. You still need energy and what you may lack in carbs, you need from fats. If you reduce your carbs but don't increase your fat, and you find you lack energy or feel more tired, then its because you have not enough fuel going in so that's the sign that you need to increase either one. At the same time, make sure your protein intake is appropriate for your size.

You might like to try 5:2 fasting. With that you fast on 500 calories for two days a week or if you prefer, 1/4 of your TDEE. Food i recommend on fast days are protein (such as fish or eggs or cheese or try nuts but eggs might be the best for vegetarians with a little cheese perhaps) and vegetables with a little bit of oil. I still use milk in my coffee but otherwise try to drink black tea or just water.

Any headaches its from dehydration. Drink more and take in a little bit of salt such as a small miso soup.

On non-fast days you eat at your TDEE or a bit less. The fast diet site has good calculators to use. And a forum for any questions.

Or you can ask me or try the 5:2 group but i don't think the group here is very useful.

Most of us doing this diet don't find it difficult and we like it. I particularly like the way it reduces your appetite.

there's a book a tv show on you tube and the website. Eat Fast Live Longer is the tv show

Also check out Catalyst - Gut Reaction for the importance of fibre. Its very interesting show on youtube that was on oz tv.

Hi, I'm also 22. I'm 5'1", 137lbs and trying to loose between 15-20lbs. And I have a growing an aversion towards chicken! lol. I'd like to explore more vegetarian alternatives but idk how to cook them. :) Add me.

Try 1200/day for a month & it should come off.

i'm 5"3, currently 132, but was 126 this summer. the south beach diet helped me go down in weight, but unfortunately i went right back to carbs when i quit the diet. also had some life stressors that kinda triggered some over eating.

currently trying to get back on the south beach diet to get back down. goal weight is probably 120, but we'll see where my fat % is when i get there. when i was 126, my body fat % wasn't a great number, and i guess that matters more than the weight # (easier to say than to think!)

but yeah, healthy carbing it really helps with those last few pounds!
