Mine are also crunchy, have been for years. Sounds like bubble wrap.
I've gotten scanned and prodded and everything, and my doc says it's just loose cartilage. If it doesn't hurt, don't worry. That's what I was told anyway.
I asked if I should get them scoped and they said all that will do is leave me with no cartilage. Apparently loose cartilage is way better than none.0 -

wow your Drs are great! ours here just put everything down to stress anxiety and weight!..... In January last year I was soooo breathless and had severe chest pain....was told on 4 occasions by different drs that I had anxiety and also was caused by my weight and being pregnant! A midwife was so concerned when I couldn't walk a couple of feeet without feeling like I was going to collapse! ended up being a blood clot on the lung! lol swear I hate how Drs are becoming ( not all ) lol.
0_o mine hurt when I do just 1 squat?! lol should I be worried!?

My knees hurt if I do squats and go anywhere near parallel, which is one reason I don't do weighted squats. Air squats are OK for me if I'm careful.
I have bad knees from carrying too much weight for too long, so I figure I have worse problems in store as I get older. Also my knees point out when my feet are pointed straight, which causes more systemic problems. The xray tech was confused by it as well.
I'm not sure where you are from and what your health care situation is like there, but I would see if I could get in with a specialist to get those knees checked out. If it's just a copay, it would be good to know if you have a more serious problem there.

I remember being told if you have knee problems you're more likely to have flat feet, also problems with your spine and hips..in early or later life
that is peculiar! but good that they have looked into it so well!
from the Uk here, NHS hospitals free health care... but with how some treat you here, it's not worth not paying for! but thanks for answering I will make an appointment to see them and see what they say!0 -
