I think it's great that you have the courage to post your before picture. I never took one and wish I had one now to remind me how far I have come.3

I think that`s the attitude needed to succeed. I gave a short timeframe before and got discouraged. I know you can do it!

You can do it!!! Really proud of you for being brave and posting your pic. I'll fully admit I'm not brave enough to do it... yet, anyway.

You can do this! I started on Aug. 7th at 169, and am currently 137 5 months later.
1. I weigh all my food with a food scale
2. I log diligently. I eat what I want as long as I make it fit.
3. I don't take free days that will sabotage my work. If I'm extra hungry then I might eat closer to maintenance that day. I've never felt like I was starving.
4. I work out so that I can lose a bit faster
Good luck!14 -
            thanks everyone

You have taken the first step1

Great attitude! I did it slowly too, it took me about 1 year or so to get to my initial goal of a size 12 but I figured a long time slowly getting slimmer, is better than a long time slowly getting bigger. I started similar to you, I'm 5'8 and was 13 stone. Now 10'10 and trying to get to around 10 stone.0

WOW, that is awesome that you did that. I have never been so brave. I wish for you (and me, and all of us!) that we will do it this time.0

IMO taking a before picture is the BEST thing you can do for motivation! I wish I had taken more/better before photos but 70+ days in when I started losing motivation because the scale wasn't moving as much as I wanted and I was convinced I wasn't progressing I took new photos and low and behold I had changed drastically! Make sure to take before photos at multiple angles as well, you'll love that you did!2

You are brave for posting a picture of something you want to change. BTW, you have a nicely proportioned figure

You can do it! I didn't think I would make it. July starting weight was 171, at 5'2 this made me obese. Today I am 130.0 and my bmi is 23.8 and in the healthy zone.
6 months and 41lbs gone. You can do it!! It won't be long before you're posting your after!4 -
Good luck with all of your goals:).0

Pictures are a huge motivator for me. I take a picture every 10lbs to see the progress. Keeps me happy to see those changes. When I look in the mirror I never felt fat until I saw photos of myself.3

All the before and after pics are a huge motivator for me, please don't be afraid to post them.1

I cheated - my BEFORE picture is after I already lost 15...1
 -
Congrats on starting your new journey!0

So smart! I'm one of the "wish I had done that" people. I didn't have as much to lose as some people, so I guess I figured it wouldn't be as noticeable. Wrong. I can tell because I remember, but I don't have that motivating photo. What a great first step to commitment. Well done!1
