2700 Calories a week!?

Hey I'm new, have no idea how this calorie thing works. It says I need to burn 2700 Calories a week which seems impossible.
My main excercise is Bouldering which I try to do for 2 hours 3 times a week (been shortened to 2 times a week due to work conflicts) I've looked around and it seems you only lose about 100 calories per hour Bouldering. So how I burn a max of 600 a week? How do I burn the other 1900?

What are you talking about? The calories needed to lose are already taken out when MFP gives you your deficit. Whatever else you burn is extra.0

Walking or running.
Swimming burns a lot with what seems like less effort.
Cardio.
Try a combination of all three. Get active every day for at least 30 minutes.0 -
Haha swimming burns a hell of a lot I burn around 1400 in 90 minutes according to MVP but definitely not less effort. MVP has already worked out what you need to eat to meet your goals. Any exercise you do is just a bonus and the more the merrier, eh?

Do you want a calorie deficit of 2700 for the week? MFP gives you calories to eat before exercise.
You can eat your maintenance calories and exercise for 2700
or you can combine eating less with exercise.
If you eat 200 calories less (than maintenance) everyday, you're already at a 1400 calorie deficit. Then you would just add exercise to make up the difference.0 -

I'd suggest reading these threads as they'll get you set in the right direction

MFP notoriously overestimates calorie burns0 -

I know. And that's one of the highest I've seen it estimate.0 -

Haha that's why I wrote according to MVP 90 mins vigorous swimming comes up with that. I think it's a tad generous too lol0 -
I'm a swimmer as well and that does seem high. Here's a site I found for estimating swimming calories that takes into consideration pace, distance and stroke, not just minutes, and also your weight. It'll be less than MFP estimates but I still think it might be a little high.

Haha thanks but that website says more I'm a strong swimmer, prefer swimming over walking haha0

Oh well, then maybe you're burning that many calories.0

We'll never know haha0

By bouldering, do you mean laying in bed watching tv???
When I'm riding my bicycle, I burn upwards of 600 calories per hour, easy. When I used to mountain bike, an 800 calorie hour is not unheard of.
ETA: Those burns are based off of an upper-level HRM.0 -
The OP is talking about the calories burned goal in their exercise diary (where it gives a daily and weekly goal).
OP, it's based on what you put in for how often you're planning to exercise per week. No idea what exercise it bases it on though. I wouldn't worry too much about it.0 -

Also, what is "bouldering"?0 -

Yes, quite high.
Measuring against my weight loss and calorie consumption, I burn about 700 cals an hour when I'm working hard. And I'm not exactly a casual swimmer, nor am I slender. Most people overestimate their effort swimming. They're out of breath because they don't have their breathing down, not because they're working especially hard.0 -

Yeah, from your posts it seems like you would have a really good idea about how much you burn for your swims. That's a good burn for swimming. I don't think I could do it ha.0 -

^This. If we're talking about the calories burned under your Fitness Goals section, I would ignore those. They're a goal to shoot for, but the site doesn't use them to calculate your calorie goals or your weight lost per week. It's just an arbitrary number thrown up on your profile page.

Boldering is rock climbing without the harness.
At least inside. You aren't as high up, the wall angles are completely different.
The gym I went to, I think the top of the bouldering wall was 12ft whereas the regular climbing walls were like 50ft
