New start - looking for friends

Hi there! My name is Myra, I'm 21 years old, a full time student and part time retail worker. A few of the things I love are writing, (really bad) pop music, and cats. I'm here to try to lose 36-37 pounds in total. I have lost weight successfully before--a few times now over the past few years--but I usually tend to plateau before returning to my old habits and gaining some of it back. While gaining the weight back makes me feel like a failure in some ways, I'm trying to think of it instead as a lesson, that each time I regain there is something to be learned from it, so I'm trying to take my regain in stride and just start over new. I can definitely say that 2014 was one of the worst years of my life, but now it's 2015, and symbolically, at least, it feels like a new start--a new year, a new me. I'm not letting myself be held back by the past or who I was anymore. I do struggle with binge eating and emotional eating, which I think is the reason I'm overweight and keep regaining, so for the first time ever, I'm trying to deal with that as well as losing weight. I'm learning that emotional and mental well-being is just as important as my physical well-being.
I'm hoping that this time, my lifestyle change really will be for life. I guess it's all just trial and error, though--and being willing to learn more not just about living a healthy life but also about myself.
Would love to have more friends along this journey, especially if you're going through some of the same things I am! Thanks for reading

Hi Myra. I'm Rachel, I'm also 21 years old I'm a full time student in Florida, in my junior year. I have the same struggle as far as emotional eating goes. I lost 12 pounds last year, but I gained it back. I can say that My Fitness Pal does work. I have seen proof myself. But sadly, I fell back into the trap of not caring. I want to find some nice MFP friends, so if you want to add me, feel free and I'll accept0

I can totally relate to the cycle of gaining and losing the same 10 lbs over and over! I'm almost 27 & have been dealing with disordered eating habits for years now. I'm actually a nutrition nerd who struggles with binges.... makes no sense.
I'm also looking for friends on here to encourage & have some accountability so lets be friends!
