Caloric deficit by hitting all macros & mainly carbs, deplete your glycogen levels, jim stoppani is a strong advocator for it. & healthy fats are good as long as you're not exceeding 0.4-0.6g/lb of bodyweight

Low carbs with weekly refeed day

If you're refeeding, then what exactly is your reasoning for going low carb?

Why do you want to deplete glycogen levels? All that will cause you to do is lose water weight. Fat loss is what you're aiming for and depleting glycogen levels has nothing to do with fat loss.

Play around and find what works for you. Personally, I find that I stay fuller for longer when I eat more healthy fats and protein, whereas carbs just make me crave more carbs. Others are miserable on low carb and find way to fit bread, pasta etc into their calorie allowance. What makes up your calories won't have any effect on weight loss, unless what you are eating makes it hard to stay in a deficit.

Hit your fat and protein minimums, use the rest of your calories however best suits you.

I agree with Karen - I'm trying to hit my protein more than anything else.
