full and then very hungry

I've been doing this whole calorie counting thing since January, and have lost almost exactly 40 lbs. I've felt great the whole time, never tired, or overly hungy, or overly full. I eat 1200 calories per day, and don't eat my exercise calories. I try to spread it out into three larger meals of 300 calories, and two smaller snacks of 150 calories each.
But this last week has been weird! Every time I eat, even a small amount, I feel obscenely full, and it takes me 3 -4 hours (or more) to feel unfull - or even like I've digested the food at all. I feel uncomfortable. But almost immediately when I don't feel uncomfortably full, I feel incredibly starving - serious hunger pangs.
Also (probably TMI), but I've been feeling pretty constipated too...
Has anyone else experienced this? What caused it / made it go away??

I've been feeling the exact same way the last three days. It's a terrible feeling.
The problem with me is that I make myself eat even though I feel completely full because I feel I should eat. Then I always end up way overeating because I don't have that 'I'm full stop eating' trigger.
I have also had that same TMI problem. As embarrassing as it is to talk about.0 -
could be anything..not related to diet and exercise.
you could be having bowel issues, gall bladder, stomach ulcers/reflux etc. even around that TOM this happens to me especially.0 -
I could have to do with the timing of your meals. Are you spacing them out consistently?
It could also be related to changes in your metabolism.
When I have a really intense workout around 6pm, I sometimes get to bed at 1030 and can't sleep because I'm STARVING. And this is after a post workout snack, and then dinner. I spoke to my doctor, and she said that my metabolism is just revved up so high, that I'm burning calories long after I've stopped working out.
anyway, I'm not sure if you might be experiencing similar...0 -
i'm not sure what your intake is but you could try adding fiber supplements to your diet. that helps me maintain some degree of regularity. as far as the bloating is concerned, have you tried a probiotic? yakult or activia seem to work well.0

I try to space food out every 2 hours, meal, snack, meal, snack, meal... I work out in the morning (30 day shred) before breakfast, and then I run at night.
I guess my meals have been getting kinda scrunched because I've been waking up so late... I basically end up skipping one snack, and one meal, because I don't want to eat late at night, or too much all at once. Maybe it's just because my schedule is irregular...0 -

I agree, it sucks!
have you changed anything recently about your diet or exercise? Let's figure this out.
One thing for me, is I've been on a kinda crappy sleep schedule recently. I wonder if that could be related.0 -
If you feel like you might vomit or have even a slight fever I would seek medical help. Otherwise, it could be you just ate something that's harder to digest. Hope you feel better soon.0

Thanks, it's been like this for about a week, so here's to hoping. I'm doing my best to fix my sleep schedule, so we'll see.0 -
You are netting some shockingly low numbers on many days. Since you are a geek, I urge you to read up on this stuff and master it. Continuing like this is unsustainable for the long term. It worries me to see stuff like this because it can lead to health problems and/or eating disorders, and it goes against the main reason we are here, which is to get ourselves into excellent health.
Maybe start with these:

But we're just random *kitten* on the internet. So branch out from there and see what you might find from some reputable sources...0 -
I might lay off the cheese and the popcorn for a while and see if that helps. Hope you find relief!0
