Probably not.0

Unless you're eating at maintenance (and I'm guessing with your goal you aren't), no. Not fat, at least.0

Only if your maintenance needs are like 900 calories.0

So you can potentially maintain your weight (without exercise) at 1800 calories. You ate 1400 calories. Are you seeing where your weight-gain-at-1400-cals logic doesn't make sense? So stop worrying.0 -

Was just curious cause i never went over before... Thanks for your replies.0 -
You're fine, it takes an overage of 3500 calories to NOT lose 1lb. So basically if you are tracking accurately you will NOT lose .2 lb for the week- and considering If you're set to lose more than 1lb you probably won't even notice. Your profile shows that you are only 12lbs from your goal? Have you considered that you should adjust your loss goal to be -1lb or -.5lb this close to maintenance?0

Relax. Stress causes water retention (I'm da queen stresser). You're fine.0 -

You might want to consider dropping the goal to 0.5lbs/week now that you are about10lbs out.0 -

I don't get why anyone would want to do that? That's like a runner getting within a few yards of the finish line and then walking the rest of the way in. If I'm within 10lbs of reaching my goal, I'm going to push all that much harder to reach it. I'm going to ignore the hunger and eat even less than I had been. I'm going to put in more exercise than normal. Why? Because the goal is in sight. And like the runner in a race, I intend to sprint past the line before I slow down. There will be plenty of time after I reach my goal to slow my weight loss and bring my calorie intake back up to maintenance, but not before I reach the goal.0 -

Because it's about more than just losing weight, it's about considering one's overall health and sanity and compliance, and about helping to minimize lean body mass loss. It's also about making sure one's body is properly fueled to exercise. If you want to keep aiming for 2lbs/week and eating a tiny amount of calories, go ahead. Most would likely prefer eating more food at the expense of losing a bit more slowly.0 -
If your goal is one pound per week lost, MFP calculates a 500 calorie per day deficit. You were over that goal by 753 calories ... assuming you logged your intake and exercise burn correctly.
Simple math 500 per day deficit * 7 days = 3500 calorie deficit per week .... you were over by 753 so 3500-753 = 2747 calorie deficit for the week.
Again, assuming you logged accurately.0 -

Obviously then you're content with a current fake goal you're not convinced in immediately maintaining, just one to "sprint past..before I slow down". Why would you oblige the OP to listen to your misguided "goal" bs? Offer some support!!
There is nothing wrong with saying you set your weight goal higher for your own personal challenge of - "I'm going to ignore the hunger and eat even less than I had been. I'm going to put in more exercise than normal. Why? Because the goal is in sight." But geezus man, there is enough pressure and judgement in the journey without a fellow member contributing to it in a supportive environment like this one.
- I am one of the many subscribers on MFP who are interested in finally, after the same perseverance, hard work and dedication as yourself- achieving a lifestyle at a pace that focuses on a balance of weight and activity that works for them- permanently.
- Give yourself a pep-talk on whether or not you're being honest with your own self-centered weight/body issues before you post on the forums with no care for the OP.0
