I used to weigh in every day now i weigh in less frequently ( 2 weeks) it helps me focus on other things like working out and trying to stay on my eating plan. I notice how my clothes are fitting and that's good enough for me! but good luck everyone and do what works best for your situation.

I weigh everyday and view the weight fluctuation as an opportunity to learn to be more flexible. It's helping me train my emotions to be more calm and steady and not waver every time the scale goes up and down. I can apply that to other areas of life.

I also get to learn what triggers a few pounds of weight gain. For example, last week I only got around 5 hours of sleep one night. The next day, I gained 2.5 lbs. I've spent almost a week recovering from that gain.

I learned how important sleep is to the weight loss process. If I only weighed once a week, I wouldn't know that.

This is me exactly. I get too upset if after a week I don't lose or gain. I'd rather see the day to day fluctuation so I know what's happening. I generally only fluctuate 1/2 pound or less.

I'm having trouble finding the right weighing frequency for myself. I find myself wanting to weigh in daily, but then the little fluctuations really get me worked up. On the other hand I like knowing what is happening with my body, and seeing how things (like the lack of sleep that another poster mentioned) affect my weight from day to day. Perhaps I should try twice a week?

I have to do weekly. I wont even bring a scale into the house. I weigh in at work same time each week to keep motivated, otherwise I would become discouraged if I didnt see some progress.

I weigh myself every day, multiple times throughout the day. However, I only log one *official* weigh-in a week. Saturday mornings. Progress is what you want to log, however... I find that weighing myself more often makes me recognize the natural fluctuations in my weight, and they no longer drive me crazy when I see them because I understand them. I better understand how my body works, and that is motivating for me.

For example, I know when I have a really bad day with sodium I will most likely see a gain, and I understand that it is just water weight so I don't freak out when I see the scale go up. I also know that I weight more in the evening than I do in the morning, so when I get on the scale at night I keep that in mind. Honestly, when I finally got out of the 180's I was still weighing about 181-182 in the evenings, and I got to have a second "Yay, I'm officially out of the 180's" celebration when my evening weight caught up!!! LOL. Another little milestone for me. :) Plus, I know better what I need to do, what I need to be careful of, the day before I *officially* weigh in so that I can get the most accurate (and pleasing) number possible the next morning.

Some people get very upset about the fluctuations, and they get discouraged when they see the scale go up at all. Those people should stick to weekly weigh-ins. Same time, same clothing (or none), same scale, same location...

I'm only weighing once a week on Sunday morning. Daily I did a couple of times and plummeted into frustration...I think I am down 7 lbs now in 2 weeks time. We will see tomorrow AM.

    Best to you!

once a week for me, same day and roughly same time. now I'm at 30 pounds lost I'm thinking of changing it to once every two weeks and concentrating now on working out, how I feel and how clothes feel.
everyone eventually finds a way thats right for them :)

I weigh in once a week :) same day, same time so i can compare, although if i've had a bad week and i'm not mentally up for the numbers, i will leave that week and just weigh in the next.

twice a week ...curiosity on Saturdays...Wednesdays are my "official" weigh days.

Cannot do it daily as it colors my attitude if I don't like what it says....and waiting a week seems too long but if truth be told ...once a week is the best idea of all.

I am seeing small changes twice a week though.

I weigh in once a week. My friend weighs in every day and always complains about gaining a few pounds and then says it goes back to normal. She doesnt understand that your body fluctuats daily.

I step on the scale every morning, because seeing that number makes me mad or very excited, which fuels my work out which I do right after. I only measure once a week, which is when I record my weight. The numbers on the tape measure are much more important than the one on the scale. If I weigh what I weigh now and can fit into the size 11 inspirational pants I have, then I will be more than happy with my weight. lol

I'm a daily weigher too, it doesn't put me off, it actually keeps me motivated - if I see a loss I think "great, keep going!" and if I see a gain I think about why that is and do my best to get the numbers down again. I just need to know every morning!

Weighing in almost everyday keeps me motivated and on top of things. My weight does go up and down, but its pretty constant -- going down or up for a few days so its not like a failure to me at all!!!! This week, Ive been going down most days, went up once, which is NEW for me this week :) yay me!

I weigh every day, sometimes in the evening as well, just out of curiosity. I used to fluctuate by as much as 2 or 3 pounds, but now that I am drinking more water, I'm seeing that I don't fluctuate nearly as much. Maybe half a pound to a pound. But I don't stress out over a gain, it doesn't bother me at all. I only log in once a week, or if the scale stays the same for 3 days in a row, I'll log it as a loss.

Not everyone can do that though, you just have to find what's best for you. If it ruins your whole day to see a pound or two gain, then don't do it! :)
