I really would like to strengthen my core. Can you give me some reviews on this? Was it a good workout and also was is hard to do as a plus size person? I am not huge I am def not thin and flexible. Thank you!

I just started my 2nd month of PiYo today and LOOOOOVE it! I'm so much more flexible, my strength has totally increased and I've lost 6 pounds and 6 inches so far!

I have about 40 pounds to lose and it's challenging but not difficult to do plus there's a great modifier!

Feel free to friend me and ask more questions! :)

I'm also working on my 2nd round of PiYo. Don't worry about your flexibility starting out, she shows plenty of modifications. As far as core goes, this is THE workout for strengthening your core in my opinion. I've never had a stronger core than when I'm doing PiYo.

I'm finishing up my first month of PIYO. I really like it! I was doing the cardio heavy beachbody workouts before and they did nothing for me. I've lost 5 lbs. so far and feel like I look leaner and my shoulders are more toned and it improves your core strength quickly. Some workouts i'm so sweaty!

I have 30 lbs so lose and have no problems with the workouts its low impact so I think even plus size this would be a great start as its not hard on the knees.

Does anyone know how to log PIYO? I log it as pilates/yoga and its only a 100 calorie burn but I feel like it should be more.

I'm on w3d1 and I really enjoy it. Some days are much harder than others. I work up a good sweat and my body shakes. I don't think it's quite enough to replace cardio, so I'm still using the gym every morning and doing piyo after work. I'm 205 and able to do most of it. I am pretty flexible, but not strong. It's getting easier each day.

I'm guessing 100 cals per 20 minutes. I don't eat back my calories right now so I'm not worried about complete accuracy. My friend with a polar said that was fairly close to her readings, a bit more for sweat and drench.

I take a PiYo class at the rec center and love it. Surprise because I hated yoga, but it's WAY harder than yoga. I'm 270# and able to do it without a problem. There are a few sections (looking at you, Sun Salutations!) that move very quickly and I have a slight problem keeping up, but otherwise no issues. There aren't any crazy poses that I can't get into because my fat gets in the way. I am fairly flexible though (for my size at least). There are different rounds to the program (just like Turbo Kick/Fire/Jam), and I've only experienced one so far, but I love it!

As for logging, I created my own exercise and created the calorie burn based on half pilates and half calisthenics. There are enough pushups/lunges/walkouts/etc that I thought that was a fair assessment. At 270#, "pilates" only burns about 130 calories per hour. I am DEFINITELY burning more than that!
