My butt belongs to Bret! It was like raising the Titanic but it's 37" of bootyful booty. I've spent a lifetime of being ashamed of the thing so I'm enjoying every minute. Got my hip thrusts up to 3x10 of my own body weight plus.

Must add though, bulking really made the difference. 250 cals per day over for a couple of months.

I lost a bunch of inches and not a single inch in the butt area. I do a lot of HIIT exercises, lunges and squats every day...different variations. SQUAT SQUAT SQUAT SQUAT...you can build that booty back up

I ain't going to lie....Bret Contreras for the win. I have been doing Hip Thrust for about a month and have seen noticeable changes in my booty. Got my wife on board...BOOM! Hip Thrust for the win...always with the thrusting..always with the winning!!

Consider the case for a Glute Only Day: http://www.t-nation.com/training/flat-butt-fix

Slam Carbs after the weight training workout to get that nice pump.

thank you for this! I have found that dead lifts and squats make my legs burn terrible but nothing I do seems to affect my butt. My friend kept telling me that I must not be doing it right cuz her butt always hurt the day after squats but mine does not. Now I know why

I also had that problem with squats. I find that if I focus on tightening everything up, particularly my glutes, after I'm set up but before I start squatting, I feel it in my glutes more.

Some may say mind-muscle connection is b.s., but here's an interesting read that confirms my own personal experiences: http://www.t-nation.com/training/mind-muscle-connection-fact-or-bs

As indicated by the earlier t-nation article, you may not get optimal glute activation with squatting, but I think some mind-muscle connection with the glutes during squatting is helpful.

What is your squat form like? How far apart are your legs and how low do you go?

Soreness doesn't equate to "doing it right". Form does though and if you are eating at a surplus if you want to development.

You may want to read that article...
    http://www.t-nation.com/training/flat-butt-fix

It talks a little about bio mechanics and the author makes the case no matter how good her form is...she is destined for quad hypertrohpy based on her bio mechanics. My wife has tendency to grow quads and calves mad quick...but wants more slender legs and bigger booty. Now that she has read this article she is on board with a "glute only" day. Super big WIN as far as I am concerned...and she is waiting on me for new programming...can't wait!!

This is what happens when you play cards with cardio.
