I have a masssssssive love for chocolate - Mars bars in particular! It took me ages to adjust (only real choc lovers will understand)!! I now break up my Mars bars into pieces - or buy the kids "fun size" ones - cut them up - work out your macros for each piece - Pop them in a small container and keep them in the freezer!!
Enjoy when and where is possible - and have fun doing it - as their frozen it takes about 5times longer to eat - meaning you enjoy the one piece for even longer causing less damage to your calories!!
Works for me!!

if you love it, make room in your calorie allotment for it. I have cookies and milk every night when i go to bed. i leave room for them in my daily calories. Everything you do, has to be SUSTAINABLE. Eat what you want, just in moderation. learn where you can make easy, good changes, and what you really want to stay (in your case, chocolate).0

I like to go pick up something from there when feeling like some chocolate.
*(Neither is ice cream, IMO, or good cheese or an excellent restaurant meal, but I digress.)
That place sounds great. Agree with all of this 100%.0 -
I eat chocolate as it is. I just ate this tonight because I craved it and it fit my macros/cals:
Also OMG jealous

I like to mix sugar free pudding mix into plain greek yogurt. A bit of chocolate and the protein of the yogurt! Or I will use chocolate protein powder and make a smoothie. I'm also not against eating a piece of chocolate, or three, if it fits my calories!0

I'm gonna assume you're not dead serious about the hating yourself bit
I think you have just gotta find your own solution to the chocolate "problem". For me, the problem is stuff like mini Snickers just doesn't satisfy me and I could eat ten of them in one sitting and it still just wouldn't be enough.
My husband and I buy bars of Ghirardelli or Lindt dark chocolate (usually the flavored ones like Hazelnut, Cabernet Matinee, etc) and eat them 1 square at a time over the course of a week or two. Around 60 calorie per square, and I can honestly say that even at my TOM I don't feel the urge to have more squares after one. It's very satisfying.
I do the same thing with the Japanese Kit Kats that come in various flavors. They're kind of pricey on Amazon but worth it to me (especially the matcha and ben imo), and the fact that they aren't cheap and readily available EVERYWHERE helps me savor them & space out my chocolate indulgences more.
These tips are probably stupid to some, but they work for me!0 -
Plan it in with your regular diet. I just bought ice cream the other day - triple chocolate - and have been having it every night. I look forward to it and I still stay within healthy cal limit. So there. Don't hate yourself. Eat chocolate.0

My mama makes those! But since I don't live with mommy and I don't have a recipe for them, I can't make them.
Google it or ask your mom for the recipe.0 -
Make one cheat day a wee, but on diet days buy chocolate that has at least 70% cocoa and freeze it.That way your treat won't make you crave for more.

I had a chocolate lover once... but then she melted.
Seriously though - great advice here. Don't guilt yourself over what you eat - just log it, and fit the rest of your day's calories around it... You can even pre-log it to figure out how much you can "afford" to eat, then you can enjoy it with confidence that it won't wreck your daily goal.0 -

I get those Lindt 90% cacao bars that are segmented into squares. One square (at least 4 bites worth to me) is 60 calories. Each day I am having a square. It is less sweet than average yet super satisfying and delicious. It's very intense flavored and high quality.0

I've eaten a whole bar of 99% cacao for two days in a row. 220 calories each. They are a little rough but I dip them in coffee with cream and sugar and I dig it.0

It has crossed my mind to eat the whole thing lol but then I would have had to give up my turkey sausage "burger" patty. Wanted the meat after my workout. Also if I noshed the whole thing my husband would be left empty handed, not nice lol. So anyway. Then I ate the square of chocolate and had my lemon tea with a smidgen of lavender honey. Holy crap, honey from various blossoms and with essences added. Orange blossom honey. Wildflower honey. Raw organic wildflower honey. I'm finding things that pack a lot of flavor into a few calories in order to get some enjoyment that I "buy" with my workout calories so to speak.0

That's the one I get in 99%. It's ridiculously bitter but seriously growing on me.0 -
It's time for you to explore the wonderful world of fine chocolate. Forget that sugary Hershey's/Dove fake psuedo chocolate crap. Take a look at some Sharffenberger, Dagoba, Vosges, DeBrand, Alter Eco, and tons of others! Find a really good grocery or import store, like Whole Foods or World Market, and peruse their chocolate collection.
Real chocolate has a high percentage of cacoa, and few additional ingredients, unlike milk chocolate which has barely any actual chocolate in it (10% minimum in the U.S., 25% in the E.U.) It is far more intense which allows it to give a much greater sense of satisfaction on far less volume. A bar is usually about 2 servings, but you can easily stretch that to 4 or even 8 depending on how easily it's broken up. I keep some in the fridge for desserts or midnight snacks, and rarely eat more than half a serving at a time.0 -

Hey! Lemme alone haha. For 220 calories I'll dip that whole bar right in the jar of peanut butter.0 -

HELL yeah.
Let me just add to your list: Marou, Hummingbird, Amma, Pierre Marcolini, Askinosie, Dandelion Chocolate, Fruition, Richart, Valrhona, Pacari, Christophe Morel...
Look for small batch craft chocolates and single-origin chocolate producers. You'll start to think that even Lindt tastes like crap after a little while. And you'll never eat another Hershey bar.0
