As I am using the number listed above as my final January weight, I will use the same for my starting February weight. I am glad that this challenge lets you choose your ideal loss, as I have done the 5lb weight loss challenges, and as I don't have much more I wish to lose, it can be difficult to hit that 5lb goal every month. Also, February is very short, so there are less days to work at it. :]
I wish everyone the best of luck!0 -
Yes, I agree re: choosing your own goal. Everyone is at different starting weights and at different points in their weight loss so it makes sense to have your own personal goal. We all know that the more you have to lose, the more you can potentially lose each week. Also, initial weight loss is often quite a lot then slows down after a couple of weeks....and when you get close to goal shifting just a couple of pounds is tough. Anyway, everyone is welcome and everyone's goals and achievements will be appreciated.
And, yes, February is a short month....but that's also what's great about it....it's exactly 4 weeks. Everyone can commit for 4 weeks - it's no time at all!!!!0 -

Struggles/successes this week: nursing student struggling with staying on track. I would like to get down 15 lbs by graduation. I could use the accountability.

Great way to stay motivated and accountable! I didn't so much fall off the wagon over the past few months as much as completely pretend the wagon doesn't even exist. Luckily I only gained back about 5 pounds of the 25 I had lost last year.
I have a goal to lose 50 pounds this year, which will put me right around my former "happy" weight, and averages out to about a pound a week, which is sustainable. I tend to lose more quickly when I initially start off logging calories and exercising, so I think 7 is reasonable for February.

Struggles/successes this week: This past week has been tough. We found out 8 days ago my mother in law has esophageal cancer. She likely only has days or weeks left. It's been hard to stay motivated and not eat all the peanut butter pretzels in the house. I hope this challenge helps me get off my butt and make healthy eating choices.0 -
