I saw this at trader Joe's today. Really low in fat and calories. The first ingredient on the label is peanuts. So I am wondering have you tried it? Is it good? I don't want to pay $3.99 for something that tastes like dog food.

My sister and I each bought a jar at Trader Joes about a year ago. We both threw them away...YUCK! I love pb and it tasted nothing like it to me : ( I do want to try PB2 though, it's supposed to be much better but, I can only find it online.0

agree - it's nothing like the real pb. i threw mine away too. some people love it, tho...0

I absolutely love Trader Joe's ... but ... ... if you want peanut butter, then you have peanut butter ... moderation is key ... of course I'd recommend natural peanut butter over Jif but to me it's not a replacement ... like how people tell me Miracle Whip is a replacement for Mayo?? ... Umm ... no ... lol ...0

Thanks! I'm glad I passed.
I use their one ingredient pb a lot. I use only 1/2 serving tho and it hasn't effected my weight loss. I also love their sunflower seed butter! But I thought I would see what other thought about the alternative0 -
Is not bad, I ate for awhile in place of regular PB but once I found PB2 I tossed the rest of my Better'N Peanut Butter and never looked bacl.0

Just my two cents, I've tried the PB2 and I wasn't a fan. The texture wasn't quite right in comparison to creamy, normal peanut butter. It was slightly gritty and not smooth at all. The flavor was also a little off for me. I know lots of people love it, but I'm not one. You can buy it online in sample packs (one regular, one with chocolate) and they're only $3.99. Worth a shot.0 -
It depends what you're looking for. Better 'n Peanut Butter doesn't taste like regular peanut butter. It's more like a peanut flavored spread. Where I buy it, it's $6.99 so that seems like a steal if you see it for $3.99! Many people don't like it, but I think it's pretty good -- especially when you're eating it with something else (as in peanut butter and jelly sandwich). I also have PB2 which is kind of the same deal but in powder form that you re-constitute with water (but even lower calories). If you look on the PB2 website you can see where they sell it in your city (if available). Good luck!0

I have been buying PB2 online and love it! I thought that it was just me (45 cal peanut butter that's good for you, sign me up!), but I had family up this weekend, and they loved it too! I guess it is really good!0

yeah it's definitely a little funky tasting. kind of spicy/citrusy. though i've been meaning to use it in replacement of real PB in this recipe:

i haven't tried it yet but i think it would go great. i think this is the ONLY recipe in the world this peanut butter would taste good in actually ;P0 -
Thanks everyone for the info! I think I will check out PB20

The good thing about peanut butter is the fat. Why would you want to get a low fat PB?0

Thank goodness I saw this thread. I was thinking about getting some too but I'll pass.0

I ordered some PB2 and will be getting it tomorrow. I'm very excited to try it as I have heard lots of good things about it. I will let you know.0

Natural peanut butter is *amazing* for weight loss, in my experience.0

Got my PB2 and really like it! Good luck in finding the right pb for you!!0

DO NOT GET. Tasted NASTY. They mix dehydrated PB with Rice Syrup and it's horrid. Get PB2 instead.0

Wow. I'm surprised no one here likes the Better N Peanut Butter. I love it to where I had to stop buying cuz I'd eat the whole jar! It is not the same taste as real PB - it is quite sweet and has a slight chocolate taste added in. I got the low sodium since I found it to be less sweet then the reg. Everyone I've had try it loved it too. I had originally heard about it from Hungry Girl who LOVES it too.0

I've had both the PB2 (regular and chocolate) and recently bought a jar of Better n' Peanut Butter... Here is my conclusion... Neither are a complete substitution for Peanut Butter. PB2 is closer in my book, but does have a little bit of almost a bitter taste to me ( i just added a tad bit of honey or agave) but calorie count was awesome and I used it in alot of ways. Better n' Peanut butter is actually very sweet. I probobly wont be buying it again, Not horrible, but not really peanut butter, it'll work in some situations. I think Im either gonna invest in some more PB2 or just really portion control the real stuff.
Thats just my 2 cents.0 -
I have better n peanut butter and i definitely hated it at first, but after a couple tries (since i didnt wanna throw it out), it actually tastes good to me! I would try pb2 but i don't really wanna go thru the hassle of buying it online (right now), and it's super hard to find...i might try it in the future tho.0
