I confess that i am not comfortable in my own skin. I am unhappy with my physical appearance and i am insecure about my mental issues due to my military service.....
as I said to joe above...very few people are totally happy with what they look like even super buff totally drop dead gorgeous people will have something they don't like about themselves..
.....my dad was a vietnam vet with a few mental issues so I know where your coming from....im sure his advice to you would be ...talk about it...don't bottle it up...

I agree. Everybody is self conscious in their own way. Some allow it to affect their lives more than others. All we can do is work on those things and hope to at least reach a level of happy acceptance. We are who we are.
I have done some talking and made huge improvements. But there are just somethings you can't talk about. Thank you for the advice!

I feel stupid sometimes replying in bodybuilding/weightlifting posts because I feel like people would judge me for being a woman who lifted heavy for many years or think I know nothing about it because I'm *gasp* a girl!

Thank you! They may never be things I can let go of. But I have done a great job of adapting and coping. I have just had to learn how to adjust my lifestyle. Typical things veterans go through! I have an amazing support system through family and friends.
