Need fiber

Any suggestion for fiber rich foods? I'm having a very hard time digesting food.

I enjoy chia seeds. Chia seeds are fiber rich. I sprinkle the seeds on other foods that I enjoy (Yogurt, salad, dessert). I have been eating chia for years, but it seems it has picked up popularity. They are not calorie free, but easy to add some fiber. Many fruits and veggies are fiber rich, including blackberries. Try adding fiber in moderation as in some people it has been known to cause a upset tummy! The key is getting fiber from foods you enjoy.0

Hm. Perhaps fiber tablets? If your entire digestive process is off, I'd get a probiotic supplement. Just start slow, because if you take too many, you'll get gassy.0

Chia seeds. I use Bob's Red Mill. They have 10g of fiber, and are high in Omega 3 fats. The best thing is you can't taste them.0

The best fibre supplement I've used is Psyllium Husk (powdered form).
As above, Chia Seeds are also great.
I also like Flaxseed (Ground).
Beans are also great.
Ensure you are drinking lot's of water to aid your digestion

Will do! My digestive system has not been acting normal since the fast. Been off for two weeks, I thought for sure that by now I would be ok.0

Raspberries have the most of all the fruits. Nuts and seeds have some. Almonds are the highest.0

I have GI issues too, and take daily narcotics for pain and I find water, movement, prebiotic foods/fibre and a good daily probiotic all helpful. Chia seeds, small servings of nuts and seeds, colourful skinned and cruciferous veggies and fruits like berries and pears and apples are all decent sources of fibre. I try to add either Chia, hemp seeds or ground flax to yogurt or oats for breakfast to help my gut work better in order to avoid using OTC laxatives and softeners. Sometimes I need them, but prefer not to rely on them.0

I feel the same way about OTC laxatives. When they do clean you, they take out the good stuff too. I will be getting seeds along with boosting my water intake to see how that helps. And now that you mention it, I do take medication from time to time for my back, so that could have a lot to do with what's going on with my system.0
