3-5 pounds in 5 days? Have you considered cutting off a limb?0
-
lol @randomtai thats not my first choice0

I'm going to guess you don't have a lot to lose anyhow, so 3-5 pounds is just not going to happen. I mean sure maybe you could drop some water weight, but it's not going to be some magical transformation to super hot bikini model in 6 days. Realistic goals are much better for your emotional well being0 -
From your profile, you're 5'7"? I'm a similar height and I can say from experience that 3-5 pounds won't make a big difference visually. Choose a dress that you look great in and feel great in and skip the fast weight loss.0

I have a dress that I really like! and I think I look okay in it, but I wish my arms and legs were a little thinner0

Spanx0

Honey, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Any 3 to 5 pounds that you could lose would simply be water weight and no, your arms and legs won't be any smaller. I'd consider looking into a dress that flatters you and is cut for your height and shape. BUT, there's no time like the present to start eating well and exercising regularly. Besides, being okay with yourself and having confidence in yourself is way more sexy and beautiful than 3- 5 pounds. That confidence will make your ex's eat their hearts out.0

@lifting4Liz I just bought some new spanx0

Oh geez.
Even if you could lose 3-5 pounds within your timeline, there's no guarantee your arms and legs would be the parts that got thinner. That's not the way weight loss works.
So many things wrong with this post.0 -

That's not going to happen in 5 days, even if you did manage to lose 3-5lbs.

Stuff your bra. It will make the rest of you look thinner.0

Where is it? I will go with you.0

Yes....I love spanx! Legs and arms are likely not going show a difference since I have found with myself I didn't see a difference in that area with weight loss but rather a combo of months of weight training and tracking food.
Have fun at your dance and wear a super cute outfit.

The only way your going to get thinner arms and legs is if you start doing leg & arm exercises to tone them up. That certinaly is not going to happen in the next week. You should have done better planning. If you start now, maybe you can tone up before prom.0

Just lol, sorry but you are being ridiculous. Presumably you knew about the dance weeks ago and have left it to the last moment. There isnt a safe way of losing that amount of weight in the time frame given, so go with the spanx.0

3-5 pounds will not show in the areas you want it to in that short of time and like many said before, it will be mostly water. What would WOW your exes more is if you walked in with confidence and with the goal to have a BLAST!!! Confidence and fun will win every time!!! Go have fun!0

Thanks @karatemomtx0

Oh honey.
Here's the thing. If I could go back and tell my 18 year old self one thing, it would be to stop worrying so much about a number on a scale. I was 5'10" by senior year, and weighed 150#. Perfect weight for my height...but I thought I was fat. What. An. Idiot.
My thighs were big, so much bigger compared to my friends. But I played softball. Tournament, travelling team at that. Oh and did I mention I was the catcher? Yup, those tree trunks for legs were STRONG. Good luck getting past me at the plate.
My arms were big, my biceps made shirts too tight, and even my wrist was bigger. I hated wearing anything that showed my arms because I was so much bigger than my friends. But I was STRONG. I could throw your @ss out from home plate while still in a squatted position. Good luck outrunning what I was gunning.
Looking back, I wasted so much time fretting about my size. It only took decades to get out of my head. Now at age 40, I regret the time I wasted stressing about that stupid number. I was tall and strong and gorgeous.
My biggest mistake was comparing myself to my friends. Of COURSE I weighed more than my bestie. She was 5'4". Turns out, she was jealous of my height. We want what we cannot have.
So to you, I say STOP IT. You have a beautiful dress and are going to have a ton of fun. And I assure you, no one will be standing in the corner gossiping and pointing at your arms or your legs, because they will also be busy having a good time. Tell the little @sshole that lives in your head to STFU, because that little voice will destroy you if you let it.

Go to Five Guys/White Castle.
Buy a burger- or 10 sliders.
enjoy.
Go hit the head and take a solid one.
boom - 3-5 pounds done.0 -

Like others have said, wear something that you like, that you feel good in, hold your head up, go in with confidence & a big smile, know that you're going to have a good time.
The best revenge is to live well & be happy.ellamushere wrote:This Saturday is my school dance. I want to lose 3-5lbs before the dance
Because adults should be able to plan ahead. Or was the dance just scheduled yesterday?
Your ticker says you want to lose 30 lb. With so little to lose, dropping 0.5 lb per week would be a lot.
Also, a 3 lb loss isn't going to show, and you can't know where the weight will come off. It could be your abdomen instead of your arms. There's nothing you can do to change that.
What would change how your arms & legs look is to strengthen & tone the muscles, and that's going to take time & effort. If you have access to a gym or free weights, use your google-fu to find descriptions & videos of exercises. Even body weight exercises are good (works for the military, right?).Do you have any tips (For how to lose the weight fast/look amazing)!
bulemia, laxatives, excessive exercise, VLCD, dehydration, cutting off a body part.
Don't do those!
I'm giving them as examples of what would work, in hopes that you can see how stupid an idea this is.
(I've lost 5lb in a week a couple times, and 3lb in a week many times, but I also started off a year ago 110 lb overweight.)0 -
Pretty much the same answers you got in the singles group when you asked how to lose 5-10 pounds.0

Any ways to lose 3 lb in a week (for someone at your height/weight) would be unhealthy...

Most importantly, the weight lost in that time frame doing those things will not be losing fat, but principally dehydration. Being dehydrated will make her look worse, not better. Those things would not work toward the OP's actual goal (looking good), only the stated goal (changing the number on the scale).0 -

Well you shouldn't- because it only goes to prove his point.
Younger people are 1.) more prone to material concerns like you have and 2.) more easily insulted when called out.
sorry- you're proving his point.
Did you go take a dump yet? Seriously- it'll fix your 3-5 pound problem.0 -
Did your exes both dump you over 5 pounds? No? Then why would 5 pounds change their minds? And why do you want people who don't want you? That's the problem you should work on.0
