I've lost weight twice before after each baby so I know what works for me. Well this time I'm 3months post partum and been working my butt off exercising and eating 1200 of HEALTHY food a day. Low carbs. Tons of veggies lean meat and water only other than one cup coffee a day. I've lost some but scale hasn't moved since Ive really started becoming strict about losing weight. It's been over a month and not lost a single pound. And my clothes are not fitting any better either. What the heck is going on?

How are you measuring your food?

Make sure you measure your food correctly. This was my biggest mistake last year. Measure your whole foods by the grams, rather than by the cup size.

Since you say that clothes aren't fitting differently, I'm going to discount any significant changes in other metrics (waist size, etc), but it's probably important to measure those regularly along with your weight.

    Here are the usual possibilities:

-You're eating more than you think you are.
-You're not burning as much as you think you are.
-You've developed some medical condition that's interfering with your normal weight loss.

If you've been to a doctor and everything checks out, then it's probably some combination of the first two.

If you're not currently using a food scale, I'd suggest doing so. Accurate logging is key.

I have a good scale but rarely use it. Will put in like one whole bell pepper or one small Apple. For chicken I usually cut my breasts in half and just eat half then fill up on veggies.

Are you eating back all your exercise calories? Maybe try eating back only half or 2/3 of them as some calorie estimates on MFP are high. Also, weigh your foods and log every bite. Congratulations on your new arrival by the way.

There ya go. Track your foods as accurately and honestly as you can. Consistency with this will render results. I promise you :)

I don't eat back exercise calories this early in "the game". Guess I should try measuring everything. And thanks for the congrats. Baby girl number 4! All within 5 years

There is the problem. If you are not weighing your food you are likely eating more calories than you think.

Also- what do you consider "healthy"? Low carb is not needed to lose weight.

4 girls....born within 5 years of each other...

That should make for some super fun times in about 10 years.

By healthy I just mean lots of fruit veggies salads. Rarely dairy cause I'm lactose intolerant. Carbs tend to make me feel bloated and yucky that's why I do this.

Weighing food can make a huge difference. Also be careful to use accurate database entries. If you use one for '1/2 a chicken breast' and that listing assumes 4 ounces for 1/2 a breast, but yours is 6 ounces, that is calories you're consuming but not logging. Except you don't know how the listing compares to what you eat. Which is why going by weight is more accurate.

Also don't forget things like condiments, cooking oils, etc. Little details can add up.
