Machines - Calories?

My husband and I just joined a gym. I have been yo-yoing the past few years but am sick and tired of being fat so I'm taking it serious this year. I have been doing 20-30 min of cardio and some weight training using the machines. I have also done a session with a trainer and I am doing some core training, etc. When I input the information, the only calories it shows that I burn are from the cardio (i.e. treadmill, elliptical, etc.). Does the conditioning not count as far as burning calories?

Thanks for your help.

  • Yes, you definitely still burn calories. My thought is that they don't tell you how many calories because it's very dependent on how intense it is for you as an individual. I suggest purchasing a hr monitor and you can see exactly how much you're burning. I love seeing the numbers when I'm done with my workout. Good luck!!
