    Yup quite a few and quite a few times. Never to a summit though. I used to hike Mt. Rainier several times a summer but I did small day hikes.

    Yes actually. Spent 6 summers at camp learning those tricks. Can't say I've ever needed that information, but hey I've done it.

    1974. Was marching in formation in the desert, when a rattle sounded. Everyone scrambled. We were almost to the Barracks. Another Marine, George Frazell, ran to his truck and grabbed a length of chain. He threw it on the snake, and then I pounced on it and took it's head off with my K-Bar. George made a hat band for his cowboy hat and we cooked the meat and ate it that night.
