I had a small success this morning. I did the first day of the couch to 5K running program and completed it. I was very proud of myself. So was my hubby. Very slow going, but I attained my goal of finishing.

Awesome! I started running with Couch to 5k too! Great tool to use when getting started. Best of luck to you!0

Congratulations. It does get easier. I am starting week 3 tonight and am a little nervous. Jogging for 3 minutes has never happened in my life and not sure I can do it but I am going to give it my best shot. Keep up the good work and let me know how it goes.0

Congrats! I just finished day three of C25K and I agree it's challenging for someone like myself who hasn't run in a while. Good job!!0

Congratulations! I just finished week 8! It is an amazing feeling. keep it up!0

Congrats! I'm having trouble getting past week 4...I had to take time off to get my wisdom teeth removed...repeating week 3 again...0

Good for you! I'm starting C25K in June.0

Congrats! It really is amazing how well it works. I finished week 6 on Saturday and when I started running I thought to myself "there's no way I can make it 25 minutes straight", but I did it! It truly is a great system!!0

I finish up week 3 tomorrow (weather permitting -- I run outside). I am loving it so far. You Can Do This!!!0

Congratulations. Started C25k in September last year after never running in my life. Used to hate running and always got out of breath so quickly. Now I run 5k 3-4 times a week and doing 5k in about 25 minutes.
The first time you do 30 minutes straight you just finish on such a high even though your body wants you to collapse in a heap.0 -

^ Same as this person, but started last spring. Now I get antsy if I can't go for a run. I run very slowly still, but have done a 4mile race and a 10K all-trail. I love :smooched: jogging now!
Keep up your good work and congrats - you're going to love running!0 -
The best advise I can give is to actually register for a 5k in your area. That will also keep you on track. It is tough, but a race will also probably give you your best time ever due to adrenaline. I ran my first 2 years ago, and beat my training times by 2 mins. Good luck!0

Way to go girl that's so awesome! I am proud! Slow and steady and you WILL get there. No one starts out running 3 miles out of the gait trust me. Took me months to build up to where I am now. Keep up the hard work, dedication and focus and YOU WILL SUCCEED!0

How is it going for you? I am starting today after work. I am a bundle of nerves (running has NEVER been my thing, but I want to make it my thing). Are you seeing a difference in your ability in the fourth week? Keep up the good work!0
-
Go you! I'm doing c25k. When I started it, I was sooo nervous. Hadn't run since freshman year of high school (so about 20 years). Now I'm almost done with week 7.0

I just completed W1D3 yesterday. Will start W2D1 Wednesday. My body is sore and I need better shoes but I wont let that stop me. I just take it easy.
I have never been a runner, not even when I was in boot camp. Didnt know the proper breathing techniques and never would drink enough water. I think I am ready now. :-)0 -
Congratulations! You'll be surprised how quickly you improve if you keep it up!
Last April (2010) I was unfit and hadn't done any fitness stuff for years. I started the C25K app on my phone, and the first time out I was ruined! I couldn't believe I struggled to run for 60 second bursts... anyway, I stuck with the program, and once I got to the third or fourth week, I actually started to look forward to going out for runs!
To cut a long story short, I completed the app, went on to run a 10K run, and then completed a half marathon in September, and am now running a marathon in two weeks time. Well, I'm going to try and run a marathon in two weeks time!
Basically, stick with the C25K and in a couple of weeks you'll enjoy and you'll see improvements pretty quickly!0 -
good work!0

Good job, keep it up! Just started week 8 today myself. Believe me it goes by fast.0

Congrats! I know how rewarding that first day was! Its the same for the first day of every new week... I just rand week4 day 2 today... and am amazed at my stamina so far... I feel like I can keep running when the app beeps to tell me to walk.... and I have never ran a day in my life.... I now consider myself a runner... I got bitten by the running bug last week
I love goin out and sure it sucks at times, but the feeling that I physically and mentally pushed myself to complete it.... its the best feeling... If I can have control over that I can have control over my eating, and over my weight loss journey! Good luck!
