Small gyms that have one coed changing room

Have you ever been to a gym that only had one coed changing area. I travel a lot for work and have noticed a lot of those small specialized gyms only have 1 changing area for both men and women, and the people seem fine changing in front of each other.

Would you feel weird with coed changing rooms and showers? Most showers were individual, not communal.

I've never heard of this. Certainly it must be illegal?

How exactly would this be illegal?
Not saying I'm for or against just curious as to your reasoning.

There's really no divider or wall between the men and women?

I've swum at pools with no women's locker room (boys' Catholic high schools, usually). They always made us/me use a women's restroom, often located far far away from the pool.

Since this is in the context of playing men's/coed water polo, we always thought it was ridiculous, because at that point you've seen (and felt) it all.

I'm not sure I would appreciate co-ed facilities in a regular gym context, though.

We only have one changing room/single stall bathroom, but it has a curtain divider in the corner so if your stripping down to change you can head to that corner for a bit more privacy. It is such a small gym though that there is never more then 10 people there at the BUSIEST time.

I used to belong to a boxing and martial arts gym like this, but there weren't showers or that sort of thing. The least anyone ever saw the men in was usually boxers and the women maybe a sports bra. If you are aware of the situation, it stops being weird pretty fast. Guys just make sure the button hasn't fallen off the front of your boxers, and girls make sure you don't work out in a thong and everyone is good to go.

    HAH!
Co-Ed amateur nights are always free.

A gym like that would be cool, put it would have to be a crew on no-bs folks. I don't know how you could find a group like that without making your own and then opening a gym.

I wouldn't use it. I probably also wouldn't patron that gym since I wouldn't want to spend my money on something that would make me uncomfortable or else not willing to even use part of the facility.

I don't know why y'all are excited about a co-ed gym/changing room. It's not going to be you and your hottie of choice. It's going to be you and old men drying their junk with hand dryers. Sorry, I don't know of an old woman equivalent.

I wouldn't be comfy in a co-ed changing room. I'd go home and clean up.

Co-ed locker room would NOT work at my gym. Nope, no way. Not happening.

Nope. People are people... I don't really want to be naked around anyone, regardless of gender, and I don't want them naked around me.

    I've never heard of this.

I guess I don't really see it being a big deal as long as people can act like mature adults. I don't think there are laws against it.

We had that situation in my military training but it's not like people might think. All in one big tent but changing wasn't a big thing, if you were stripping down all the way it was in your sac otherwise you've got shorts and a T-shirt. I imagine most people who need to do a full change would use a washroom.

It might be weird at the beginning, but I think I could get used to it.

    Why must it be illegal?

It's illegal for men and women to use the same restroom (if is only one stall that's different)so using the same changing room with several people seems like it would be illegal

Cite the law that makes this illegal.

There are many businesses that have only one restroom that are just ripe for lawsuit if the "Tess Law" exists.

Like the business needs to legally have a restroom for both men and women of its single use it can only be one
