Diet Plan for Menopause

I work out daily and eat healthy, but can not seem to drop the pounds. Would like to lose 15lbs.

  • Isn't it frustrating! I too want to lose 15lbs but it is so difficult. I eat healthy and work out. I don't know what else to do! I refuse to say, "oh well, it's my age." and I refuse to give up!

    YMMV. For me, I've needed to carefully limit refined carbs. And get lots of legumes and other complex carbs. I've also needed to cut back red meat (but that was for hot flash reasons). So a good healthy diet that limits refined grains, has helped me keep the weight off.

    There's a good book on eating for menopause, but it's more focused on symptoms, rather than weight loss.

    I suspect for weight LOSS I'd need to do even more "heavy lifting". Again, as always, YMMV.

    I have cut out bread and I eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I really don't eat a lot of red meat. Instead I eat fish and chicken. I have been working on this since Oct 2014 and I won't give up. It has just been very slow getting it off. Do you know what group I should join for support? Thanks!
