Time to quit the yo-yo cycle. Here, read this: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1

and read the links given in the original post. There's a lot of information but it's a great guide.

Stop dieting! Make small changes that will lead to big results.
What is your weakness? Food or lack of activity?
I'm new at this but eating healthier alternatives is making me feel great! I'm not hungry, and my head and skin are clear. I wish I would have chosen to live like this year's ago but I can't look back only forward.
Find your weakness and squash it! You can do this!

I totally agree. I'm tracking everything, but the reality is that I only need to make two lifestyle changes and stick with them: stay active and cut out afternoon snacks. That cuts 500 calories in and adds 350 calories out on average. When I slack off on the exercise and start to indulge in the snacks, my weight creeps back up.

I so get where you are coming from. I HAD yo-yo’s for nearly 30 years. I had gained and lost about 30-45 lbs over and over. I always felt I knew how to lose weight because I was always able to do it, I just couldn’t keep it off. I had just lost around 25 lbs AGAIN and noticed I was on an upswing AGAIN when in casual conversation a co-worker mentioned MyFitnessPal. I thought it sounded interesting and decided to try it. I was able to lose those last few lbs that I had wanted to lose and have been able to maintain for the first time in my life for about a year and a half.

I scoured through the community posts and learned so much. Even though I was doing fine without it, I decided to get a food scale. LOVE it and use it every day. It helps to make sure my portions are correct and gives me that visual so that I can learn what a true portion looks like. Some things will surprise me. Peanut butter, ugghhh a portion size is soooo small. Meat, I’m sometimes a little surprised how big of a piece I can eat. I also decided to get a Fitbit fitness tracker. It is very motivating to find out how active you are, (or aren’t). Plus it helps me to know exactly what I can eat every day.

This is not for all, but another thing I did was to start running. I NEVER thought I could be a runner. I had been an AVID walker for more than 15 years, when my daughter talked me into trying running about 3 years ago. I started really slow and was too shy to run outside. I only ran on my treadmill. Once my stamina built up a little, I decided to try running outside with my daughter. Now I love running outside, and I run by myself all the time. I don’t need the comfort of that other person with me. You build up confidence as you build up stamina. I can’t run outside in the cold winter months, so I’ve been using my treadmill lately, but I’m anxiously awaiting when I can get back outside with it. I don’t do any races and my only competition is with myself. But I totally enjoy all the extra calories I get by running! Not to mention how good I feel because of it.

Another thing that I like to do is use more of a weekly calorie allotment. I like to save up a few calories all week long, so that I can eat a little extra and have a few treats on the weekend. Keeps me sane. I have a huge sweet tooth.

What works for me may not work for you. Some people need that consistency day in and day out and can’t do the whole save up calories thing. Many people are not runners and they are reaching their goals too. You CAN find a way to do this. Log everything at least until you get a better understanding of how many calories are in what and what true portion sizes are. Read through the forums. Find out what is working for others. That might help you figure out what will work best for YOU so that you CAN stick to your goals.

Yo yo girl what up? We fenna talk about dat weight loss n'amsayin?

Oh my fault, I misunderstood the title.

Ok but on a serious note I would not neglect the personal feeling aspect of things. What I mean by this is that not only should you consider making some habit changes to improve your health markers and potentially make changes to your body, you should also look into methods of self acceptance.
