It's just become another commercialized holiday. Candy starts showing up in stores on Jan. 1 and cards are way overpriced!

No woman will ever be satisfied on Valentines Day until men have chocolate penises that ejaculate money.

    Nah, tongue.

At this point, I'd settle for either.

Spent at least a dozen in my adult single on VD, so no big deal. Pretty much every holiday only serves to highlight that I lack a SO and have no nuclear family to speak of anymore, so it's no more or less depressing than any of those.

What's annoying is the over-the-top declarations of love and endless thread of pics of 2 dozen red roses posts in my newsfeed on FB. Especially when posted by friends whose marriages I know darn well are in serious trouble. Such a farce.

I'm single, not involved with anyone, so I got pink cupcakes for the security desk in my building and I'm going to post a Valentine on Facebook tomorrow. <3o:)<3

I've always loved Valentines day whether I have been single or in a relationship. I've received a card every year for as long as I can remember (those anonymous ones were probably from my parents but it made it exciting anyway lol). Now I'm in a long term relationship with 5 kids it serves as a reminder that we need to make time for one another and not just be parents. Of course we try to do sweet things for each other throughout the year and have romantic dinners every now and again once the kids are in bed but Valentines really gives us the push to be a bit soppy and silly like we were in the early days. I agree it has become too commercialised but I tend avoid the shops and make cards, decorations, and food at home so you don't have to be exploited to have a nice time.
