Daily calorie intake too high? based it on TDEE.

i have been on mfp since January, got 16lb to lose, lost 5lb (yay) but weight loss has practically stopped!
i started at 1300cal (permenantly hungry) for the first 3 weeks when i lost the 5lb but then researched my TDEE which calc it at 1972cals. Then i deducted 20% to get to 1577cals which over the last 2 weeks is what i have averaged. but no weight loss.
I'm going to have to go back to 12-1300cals and be grumpy aren't i?

Do you have a desk job?
Do you want to follow MFP which is excluding exercise and you add exercise calories on top or cut from TDEE ...they work out the same ...I prefer the MFP method because it makes me more active0 -
I would say you should be netting around 1500-1600 to lose 0.5-1lb a week so give it time ...your body is just showing water weight from the increased calories, more sodium or even hormones0

When you switched to 1577 calories, did you log and eat back exercise calories on top of that? With the TDEE method, you don't do that, since you're taking your workouts into account already.
Also, 1972-1577 is only a deficit of about 400 calories. That's about 0.8lbs/week. It's a small enough number that fluctuations due to water retention, hormones, sodium, time of month, etc. could offset it easily and you may not see it on the scale just yet.

Definitely give it longer than 2 weeks. I doubt your allowance is too high.0
