Everyone has an opinion. Truth be told. I have never seen the fast metab. If you eat more than you need to maintain; you will gain. What I did was take my perfect weight and goal exercise and gradually increase it. You need to figure what you need to maintain.
I used the following index. http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/
I assumed you were 65 inches tall and you were about 98 pounds. I assume you will you the chart and get yourself accurate adjustments.
If you were shooting for a weight of 125 lbs (Why because that seems the usual young person craziness.) to do this and gain mass( not debating muscle vs fat) you need to eat 4 meals of 430calories a meal four meals a day. ( This is assuming you are working out)
Point in fact you need to eat more. What do eat? well that depends on how active you are going to be. Which will dictate how much you should really eat. We need more information. You don't want to chub out, that will produce awful habit that could lead you into the wrong direction and being a chubby down the road.
Lets assume you need 1200 calories to live and maintain. We need to know how tall you are and your current weight? How active you are and are you willing to make healthy lifestyle changes. You can do this safety, while producing habits that will carry you a life time.
