I was a competitive swimmer in youth and high school. After decades of destroying my lungs with cigarettes, I am trying to get back into it. For years I could only do 3-4 laps but now with treadmill cardio work over the last year I am up to 10 laps.

I am from germany, born and raised all my life I swam on a great team. I think my very first competition was when I was 4 with swim wings

I am in the same boat as JimFsfitnesspal, I swam for my county in England for many years and it COULD have gone a lot further, till I found junk food and sweets! I still have the technique just not the stamina :disagree:

I am still very passionate about swimming now and just love being in the water, I plan to achieve my scuba certificate this year to spend more time under the sea :)

I am from germany, born and raised all my life I swam on a great team. I think my very first competition was when I was 4 with swim wings- I won and that's when I fell in love with the sport! With the age of 16 I was about 2 seconds away to swim for germany and that was about the same time I was ready to be a rebel and I started smoking. I didn't quit swimming for a while until it slowed me down and I got discouraged quick.. I was very talented.. Then I had a little kiddo with the age of 21. Now 26 almost 27 I am slowly but surly getting back to it. If I am not at least in water for an hour daily I work out the other days. Run and even do strength work outs too! It's not easy getting back to it for being out for such a long time but my love for water didn't change and I know I can do it

  • I swim daily. I get an hour lunch break and my gym is just a few mins from my office so I do 30 mins each day. I swum daily a few years ago and then stopped (gained 40lbs :( ) and have just started up again. So happy to be in the water again! The first day back in the pool though was a shock to the system.

    My story is quiet similar
I'm also currently getting my lifeguard just because I feel like with such passion about water that's a must

It will be a great way for you to loose weight again with keeping a healthy diet. You can add me for encouragement...
