Down 3 pounds in a few days! No calorie counting?!!

Whooo! Can't believe it! I went from 112 (which for my height and frame is a little overweight) to 109 in a few days. I fasted at night (no eating before bed) and ran 3-5 miles everyday. But other than that I just did mild portion control, ate healthily, (but still got my chocolate cravings satisfied with quest bars/vegaone bars) etc. I also drank the occasional green juice with a meal. And I didn't.Count.Calories. Honestly, all through this I never went hungry, except at night, and now my body is getting used to the fact that I'm NOT going to eat after 7, and the hunger pangs go away after a little while and then I go to sleep, and wake up lighter

I lost three pounds this morning after using the restroom. Yay!
In all seriousness, weight can fluctuate daily as much as 5lbs due to what you've eaten, exercise you've done, if you've gone to the bathroom, if you've been sick and also hormonal fluctuations.0 -
Honestly, I think that is great. I mean, whenever you make changes to your fitness and diet, your body goes through *stuff* to adjust to these changes. Usually its a loss in weight, other times its a gain... but its not until after a week or two that you can see the actual changes without those initial fluctuations which can be misleading.
Even saying all that, I still think its great and am super happy for you, because seeing your body respond to the changes you are making is exciting regardless, and it's very inspirational to keep on going and to see more progress. So kudos
Oh and if you find yourself leveling off and not losing weight, then all you need to do is start logging what you eat and your exercise to be able to see a full picture and make changes. Its a journey...you started, and you're feeling great. That matters.0 -

Oh. I see. My mistake. Well, I'll just keep trying!0 -

Wow, how short are you that 112 pounds is overweight? I didn't realize that could be overweight for any height and frame.0

For people 5'3" and under, being 120-110 looks pudgy even though we're in a healthy BMI. I'm 5'0" and weigh 115 and I look very pudgy, with a muffin top. We're not fat, we're just not fit either.0

Right...It's body composition. I'm sorry, but I'm only 5'4" and at 138 I don't think I look pudgy. Maybe a mix of body composition and personal body image.0 -
I'm 5'10..but am the "freak" in the family lol because pretty much all the women in my family are between 4'8" and 5'2"... Dont know how much they all weigh, but my daughter is 5'2" and 115, but shes very muscular... So yeah, without knowing a height, its hard to judge. Besides I dont understand shorter women since I cant relate I havnt been 120 since I was like...10 LOL so I cant really say much.0

That is a bold generalization. Many women between 5'0" and 5'3" look very fit at 110-120. It's about body composition. Not necessarily scale weight.0 -

I agree with that too! Like I said, I'm extremely small boned, so a little weight looks awful on me (that's not an opinion, it's a FACT hehe!) but on someone with maybe larger bone structure, it would look awesome! I feel like it really comes down to bone structure, composition, etc0 -

Or lean body mass.

If I may..I think that the point is...at that height...120 can look fit ...but it is also possible to look "pudgy"...depending on the body composition. Body fat % makes a huge difference in how weight looks on a person.
Conversely..if someone who is say my height (5'10") said they looked pudgy at 120, that would by physically impossible. Theres just no way a person that tall could have so little lean body mass that 120 could in any way make them appear pudgy. Just like how, someone my height could be 175 and look thin, while someone who is 5' would not in any way look slender or fit at that weight. (I might be wrong about that though!!! I dont know what a 5' person looks like at 175 to be honest...Ill admit that)
This whole thing got started really because someone said they cant imagine that weight could look pudgy on *any* height or frame. My 4'8" great aunt would probably..more likely than not actually, look a bit pudgy at 115-120. Height truly is a factor, along with LBM and BF% and body shape as well in how any number on the scale affects what our bodies looks like.
I think everyone is arguing the same point, stemming from the comment that started this line of discussion..just from different sides!!!! lol0 -

In for "pudgy" 112 lb. short people with muffin tops... I don't know anyone that fits this description. Perhaps you just have some pants that don't fit? :disagree:0

A person would have to be very short. I am 4' 11" and have a medium bone structure and the lowest healthy weight is 111 pounds.
4'11"
light frame:103-113
medium frame :111-123
heavy frame: 120-134
This is according to the WHO

I'm 5'2" and 125... and far from "pudgy". In fact, I look pretty darned awesome for an old broad.
Maybe you need to pick up a few weights or something... or perhaps stop generalizing.

I agree, because at 110 or 115 pounds a short person is not fat or really overweight, but usually out of shape. When I was in the best shape of my life in my mid-40's ( through lots of serious weight lifting ) I weighed 128 pounds at 4' 11". I have weighed as much as 20 pounds less and looked worse.
I think more than anything the OP should get in shape and while doing so also eat a variable diet with calories appropriate for her size, height and activity level.

Sounds like you need to do some strength training (even body weight stuff would strengthen your core), make sure you're getting enough protein and maybe readjust what you consider overweight. Out of sheer curiosity, I'd like to see pictures of you pudgy 109 pounders:)
