Next week is finals week. I don't want blow what I have already accomplished. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should eat and drink to make it through? I'm a mom = late night studying. Thanks!

im just finishing up my own finals....lots of rest, good quality snacks (frozen grapes, nuts, popcon, fruit, etc), and exercise are key. I use the exercise breaks as motivation to finish certain tasks. Planning is key so that you have time to study, sleep, and exercise.

    good luck!

Trail mix and Vitamin Water Zero were my lifesavers through finals week. I also drank tons of water during that week. It helped curb late night snacking while studying.

I do fifteen minute study sessions with situps or pushups in between. I've come to realize that I retain more information when studying is done in short bursts.
For snacking, I always have some popcorn around or some saltines. Can you tell I've been craving salt? TONS OF WATER. :)

I've been giving this a lot of thought because I'm going in to my Master's program in the summer and I KNOW I'm a stress eater. I've decided that my strategy is going to be to have tons of healthy snacks like what aggiecass09 listed...and allow myself to eat as much as I want of those snacks during finals week even if it means going over calories. I would love to say I can control myself and just eat an appropriate serving size but if that was true I wouldn't have been over 100lbs over weight when I got my bachelor's degree. Just don't have any bad foods in your house during that time so you won't be tempted.

Oh and get lots of protein (cheese sticks are a favorite of mine) to help keep your brain functioning. :-)

Finals week is no fun - my finals week started today. Best thing to do is remember to fit exercise in - especially cardio. Try to go first thing, or in the morning so you KNOW you have a little flexibility with calories and it wakes you up. I tend to need something to crunch on, so I like to keep apples or carrots around when I am at the library. Also drink lots of water!

It's no fun - but if you can make it through finals week, I feel like you can make it through anything!

    Good luck!

I wish I could keep everything bad out of the house, but with 3 boys (15,10,7) that is not always an options. Plus the hubby is doing the shopping until after next week. I know there will be poptarts, sugary cereal, ice cream, etc brought in. I usually stay away except under stress then I just eat anything in my path. Exercise to break up studying is a great idea! I LOVE frozen grapes, I forgot. Thanks for the great ideas!
