'Impossible' exercises

Are there exercises you just can't do, not matter what? I struggle with press-ups and chin-ups and I'm not sure why, as my arm and shoulder strength is quite high. I'm fine with planks but as soon as I lower myself to the ground I just can't lift up again. And my sense of balance is awful so I wobble all over the place when I do lunges, but at least I can get my knees down.

So what exercise do you find hard to do?

I have trouble with pull-ups, chin-ups. I'm working on it though. I've never done one i my whole life. This will change though.

I am also surprised to find that I am unable to do a leg lift while also doing a side planck at the same time. I am also working on this. I recently learned this as I am working on core and hip strength to help with my running. Turns out I needed this work pretty bad!

I can't do dance-y aerobic exercises or kick/jump type stuff. Basically, I am not very coordinated. I can walk, run, and lift weights as long as there's nobody around for me to smack with a dumbbell.

Try wall push ups. As you get stronger find lower and lower levels until your hands are on the floor. Remember to brace your core as you lower and press up.
Similar for chin ups. Pack your shoulders, tighten your core and pull your elbows down to your sides. Sometimes those cues help visualize what muscles you need to engage.
For lunges try stepping back instead of forward. Work on your balance before working on strength.

I'm fine with standard planks but really struggle with any variations such as incorporating arm or leg lifts, the ones where you go down on your elbows then back up to your hands, or renegade rows.

Still can't do a dragonflag. May not ever, but I'll keep working on it.

I can't do anything that involves coordination, especially if it is something I haven't done as a child. I tried belly dancing and failed soooo much when I had to put more than 2 movements together. I've also really realised that I'm not an explosive, quick person, but I'm a pro at endurance stuff.

Otherwise, I have a bad neck so I'm limited to low impact stuff and certain things like overhead presses, planks, etc. are a no go for me.

Pull-up, body bridges, anything that requires me to kneel on the floor.

I have never done a pullup in my life.

I still have flashbacks of failing the boy scout fitness test because I couldn't do even one.

I have 37 inch arms, no upper body strength, and a fat *kitten*. Not a good combo for pull-ups.

My trainer says those, and bench, and squats will always be hard for by body type.

On the other hand, when we were doing leg press, I told him to put some weight on it. He said that was impressive, I said I press 280 lbs every time I stand up, if course my legs are strong. Lol

    Planche:

Been so long since I started training I can't remember when I first started the training. Over a year?

Starting to wonder if I'm just getting on a bit. Nailed the human flag and front lever but just cannot do a full planche.

I struggle with keeping correct form when doing dumbbell squats. I try to maintain form as if I am moving to sit with my butt on a box (probably a poor description) and keeping my knees from moving too far forward. But keeping my body weight far enough back, I feel on the edge of losing my balance.

This video, at 14:15, is a perfect example of the kind of stuff I cannot do. I could probably do the knee thing alone or move side to side alone. But put it together and I'm a mess. Also, the lateral hop jumps at 7:20. Impossible.

none of that should be on your abilities. Just slow down.
There is aboslultey no reason you should be labeling those things as "impossible"

I don't think anything is impossible in terms of ability to complete a task.
Certain weights might be realistically out of my goal- but to do an exercise- I believe all are possible with proper training.

Being said- I have yet to master a muscle up.

there is nothing in any fitness blender video ever made that should be considered impossible for any able bodied person

Just wait and develop your fitness. I would bet you can do those "impossible" moves eventually. :)

One-armed pull-up and muscle-up. Someday I'll get motivated and pull it off. Maybe.

To be clear, I'm sure that if I practiced hard I could do those moves, just like the majority of prior posters could do their problem exercises if they worked long and hard enough. I simply have no interest in mastering those kinds of moves, much like I have no interest in dancing, so I don't work on developing the coordination to do them.

Lunges, my knees always scream "hell no" after only a few. For some odd reason, I can do squats just fine, although they seem just as hard on the knees. Go figure.

    Here is an incomplete list:
    - Muscle Ups
    - Butterfly Pullups
    - One-Arm Pullups
    - Pistol Squats
    - OH Squats (or any OLY lift that requires this)
    - Double Unders
    - Advanced Dragon Flags
    - Wall ball Burpees
    - Box Jumpovers
    - etc.

    So then NOT impossible...

Something I can do but won't: bulgarian split squat.
The last time I did them I said to myself "I will leave this gym before I do another set". And I haven't done them since.
