I remember when I was in high school and college sports that after a full week of training I would be sore and unable to move, now it takes only a 2 hour gym session to almost kill me.
I am back on the workout train after my over indulgent holiday season. Any encouraging words from you all to make me not pay attention to the pain of working out, and pay more attention to "keep going!" would help.
My next work session is tonight. It's arms, shoulders, and rowing cardio!!

It gets easier the more consistently you do it, and the DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) will lessen as well.0

Thank you so much!!! That's the encouragement I need. I'm not overly sore...I just ache today. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow after tonight's work out. And super hopefully....in two more weeks I'll have some sort of progress. Crossing fingers!

^^This!^^
Even after a hard workout, I find that if I can discipline myself to do a good 20 - 30 mins stretching routine, I feel much better the next day.
Having said that, I don't always manage to stick to it, but I know I should as it really helps!0 -
DOMS have never stopped me from working out. I don't know if that's motivational... You can do it!0

Workouts will make you sore! The best thing I do before workout is warm up for a few minutes. It gets your body prepare for the workout ahead. After workout, cool down stretches help me. All the tension I built during excercising get a chance to relax. But I'm still sore next day after my workout from the day before! My best solution is to do a 15-20 minute stretch routine. Wow!! That really makes my body feel great! Soreness management is an ongoing thing...you will start to enjoy the workouts knowing how great your stretch routines are going to feel. Enjoy your workout!!0

I agree it's gets a little better as your bod gets conditioned to working out. Stretching after a workout is key and I'm guilty of not doing it enough. I also just invested in a hydro massaging spa (fancy hot tub) and it really works. Perhaps your gym or where you live have one. Though tired. 20 min soak and hydro massage relieves a lot of aches. Keep at it!0

They will ease with every session, actually lifting again will decrease doms too. I like to foam roll when I'm sore & tight0
