How to break a plateau, scale won't budge :/

Hi, so I have been working out and eating well for a while now and have finally gotten down to the last 5 pounds. I couldn't be more proud of my progress. I am at a plateau at 107. I do lift weights so I know the reason why I am not losing the weight is because I am gaining muscle. I have added HIIT cardio to my gym workouts opposed to just running for a long period of time. I try not to focus on the scale as much and more about what I see in the mirror, but sometimes I feel so confident I have lost weight. What are your tips on losing the last 5lbs, breaking a plateau, or losing body fat. I am 5'1 23 and petite. Feel free to add me :)

106 is the about the lowest "healthy" weight for someone 5'1". May I ask why you feel you need to lose 5 more pounds?

well I am focusing on losing body fat and toning up my entire body. I am petite so going a little below 106 won't be harmful. my final goal would be around 102 no less :)

Well, I still can't imagine how much fat you would have to lose at that weight. I cannot give you advice to lose anymore. Only to lift, either at maintenance or above, and work on your body composition.

You're not gaining THAT much muscle. A heavy lifting woman will gain maybe 3-5 lbs of muscle per year. It will appear larger because of bodyfat loss, but won't weigh that much more. IF you google muscle gaining, you'll see that due to a woman's lack of testosterone, muscle gaining is seriously difficult for us.

I be willing to bet you look amazing as you are!

Yeah you're not gaining muscle with cardio/running and trying to eat at a deficit.

I'd suggest ditching SOME of the cardio/running and adding more lifting. Sounds like you could benefit from adding muscle rather than lose much more fat.

Thanks everyone for you support :) I enjoy lifting and feel like I could lift a little more. Just want to work on tone definition and working on my abs lol

It's less about confusing your body and more about adjusting your intake based on your new stats.

if your intake is 1200 and you cannot go lower then the only thing to do would be to shake up your workout routine no?
