MyFitnessPal Nutrition & Unsaturated Fats

Question: MFP nutritional goals have 0g of polyunsaturated, monounsaturated, and transfats, while allowing 14g of saturated fat. I understand the transfats, but all my research indicates (including the Mayo Clinic, Harvard School of Public Health, the CDC, AND MFP's nutritionist under Nutrition 101: Fats) that we should strive to replace saturated fats with the unsaturated fats as they are a healthier fat found in fish, vegetable oils, and nuts that raise the good levels of cholesterol, ease inflammation, and stabilize heart rhythms. Therefore, I'm curious as to why the MFP app nutrition recommends the opposite. Any ideas how this can be altered to allow for those fats so my nutrition report doesn't always show those in the negative?

I went to goals, advanced settings and set them for what I wanted. I also manually adjusted my sugar and sodium goals.

Some things are good to get in the red on. I'm always in the red on vitamins, and try to get in the red on fiber, potassium, iron, and protein.

There's no RDA, so there's no recommended amount. Don't worry about it if it's red, just try not to go into the red on Saturated fats

The default settings in MFP don't reflect some of the latest knowledge and recommendations. That's why setting your own goals is important. You can adjust them to reflect the latest information.

This. MFP only sets goals for categories that have an official USDA Recommended Daily Allowance. And as another poster said, there's nothing wrong with going a bit "over" on most of the categories. Some are Maximums or goals (like calories) but some are minimums or suggestions.
