using meal replacements

I am considering taking meal replacements like protein shakes kind of thing, so I lose weight much quicker and also I have more control of my caloric intake. I understand that I need to get my nutrition from somewhere and so I was thinking to take multivitamins also along with the meal replacements.

My goal caloric intake/daily goal is 1,670 calories/day and I currently do 6 days worth of gym alternating between cardio days and weight training and hopefully I intend to lose weight and become a healthy 75-80 kilos. I'm currently weighing in around 95Kgs (oh man, that looks bad! LOL) and I hope that doing meal replacements will keep me on track.

So is this a good idea? Any further tips you may want to give? Thanks guys.

    never do anything to lose weight unless you plan on continuing to do so after the weight is gone.
    also, please keep in mind that the faster you lose weight, the more likely you are to gain it back.

    i would never recommend meal replacements, especially if you plan on using vitamins to get basic nutrition. multivitamins should be a supplement to your nutrition, not the main factor.

    your exercise routine seems healthy enough. make sure you are getting lots of protein and eating all of your daily calories.

    Can you have shakes and still eat your intake for the day healthy choose and lose weight? Including the shakes in your intake.
