My name is Carhy and I am 54 I have struggled with eating issues my whole life, I am currently very obise and am trying to remedy this. I simply do not like to eat. I skip meals for very long periods of time. I really do hate to eat. How can I weigh so much and eat so little?

  • The timing of meals actually has a lot to do with metabolic issues as well as what you consume when you finally do eat. For some people- and I'm not one of them- eating frequent smaller meals aids in keeping blood sugar levels even and losing body fat. Everyone's different- just have to figure out what works for you.

Thanks Mary, nice to meet you, yes what you say is true. My case is a little different, I was anorexic and bulimic as a teen and although I am not purging now the constant need to eat is not something I am comfortable with. I do eat but the three meals a day does not work for my.

How did you become obese if you don't like eating?

It sounds like you wait to eat until you are absolutely starving, then go nuts and overeat way too much. There's a way around that.

Set timers to go off at regular intervals for you to eat small snacks so you don't feel overloaded. Have snacks pre-packaged and portioned out and kept handy, so when the alarm goes off and it's time to eat, there's no excuse not to.

This is actually incorrect. The only reason anyone should time their meals in terms of weight loss is to keep hunger in check and avoid overeating. There is no science linking a slowed metabolism to skipped meals.

Yes, everyone's different, but everyone still has to obey the same laws of thermodynamics and science as everyone else. Nobody's THAT special. ;)
