Hey, y'all!! I'm new to this Keto thing... Hoping to connect with fellow Keto-ers. Not quite familiar with all MFP features yet. Would love to learn more about the benefits of this diet. Plus, motivation through other's success is priceless! How do I connect with people who are following a similar diet regimen? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

ive done keto before.. got some good results but its not a lifestyle to sustain.. honestly the only way id recommend it Is if you are extremely insulin resistant, pre-diabetic, or very overweight to help improve insulin sensitivity along with strength training and then once you drop weight and improve hormonal functions re-introduce more carbohydrates. if you are a healthy adult at a good body weight, I say eat your carbohydrates...
keto sounds cool because you drop 10lbs within the first week but its water weight from carbs/glycogen as soon as you eat carbohydrates again you gain weight its harder to tell what is the real fat you are losing...
plus most feel lethargic and have sorry *kitten* workouts unless you are within the genetic few who thrive off keto which is doubtful0 -
I did Keto on and off for a while. I'm sure that there's a Keto group on MFP, but I'd recommend checking out r/Keto if you haven't been by already. They're very welcoming and have a lot of good links and guides, and a couple recipe subreddits which are pretty invaluable. Those guys helped me out a lot while I was on my diet.0

I'll second /r/keto over on reddit. They also have a group here so you can add friends you talk to over there: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1494-reddit-keto
There's a regular low carb group with quite a few keto people on it, too: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group0 -
Thanks for the great advice! I've lost 60 of the 90 lbs gained during pregnancy with traditional diet and exercise. However, since October (despite best efforts) I haven't lost an ounce. After Mardi Gras, I decided to break this plateau and try Keto. So far I've lost 4lbs. I don't feel deprived or restricted like I have on other diets... I feel lighter and more energized. I'm really interested in the cognitive improvement this diet boasts as well (I'm ADHD). So far Keto is a win, win for me.0

I have been keto for more than a year. Its very easy to sustain, I find it hard to stick to anything other than keto now. The secret to sustaining keto is making sure you don't restrict too much on type of fats proteins etc. People get hung up on red meat and make it a steak, eggs and bacon diet.0

Plateau's are a bummer but it sounds like you broke through yours, which is great!0
