Hi guys, Basically I have decided to start this new weight loss journey. I am trying to lose belly fat and bingo wings. I am wanting to get my flat stomach back again. Am on a very strict diet and mainting cardio. Once I reach my target goal on the weight loss should i go back to eating as normal or will that make me put on the weight I lost again? Also any motivation tips?

Eating at maintenance will not make you gain weight.0

What does eating at maintenance mean if you don't mind me asking @Liftng4Lis Do u mean calorie counting0

If by 'normal' you mean eating how you were before starting your weight loss journey, then yeah, you will likely gain weight, cos that's what you did to gain weight in the first place. Once you've lost the weight you need to work out your maintenance level (most sensibly achieved by increasing your calorie intake a little each week until you stop losing).
When you say you're on a "very strict diet" what exactly do you mean?0 -
Calorie deficit=weight loss (eating less than you burn)
Calorie surplus=weight gain (eating more than you burn)
Maintenance=eating the same number of calories you burn
If you go back to what you were eating before, you will gain weight.0 -

Put simply maintenance just means the amount of calories you need to maintain your weight, not losing and not gaining (obviously everyone fluctuates a little, your weight will never be completely static). How people achieve that is a very individual thing I would say. Some people choose to continue counting calories and tracking, some will back off a bit, having gotten a pretty good idea of how much they can eat. Generally when I'm in maintenance mode my weekday eating will look very similar to what I'm doing to lose weight, but I ease up on the weekends (which is NOT the same as going crazy and eating everything in sight). It's about finding what works for you0 -

Maintenance is when you are eating just enough calories to maintain weight. (Not lose, not gain). When you're losing weight, you are eating in a deficit- when gaining at a surplus.0 -
And I just realized that Mouse typed the same thing0
