Running With A Knee Injury

Ok, so I say knee injury, but it's not an injury as such.
I have an issue with my knee that I've had since birth, which causes me chronic pain. I've recently started running, I do it twice a week for about 2 hours each.
Obviously, my knee ends up hurting, not so much when I'm running but more afterwards.
Does anyone have any idea how I could cause less pain in my knee when running, or will I just have to bear it? It's not like it's debilitating or anything, but it hurts.

Maybe not run for 2 hours at a time? Especially since it's only 2x week.
Have you been fit for the shoes you're in?
What's the issue with your knee?
I've had knee problems and with physical therapy/strength training, I've largely eliminated my knee pain. My problem was from the way my bones were shaped and the muscles/tendons acting on them0 -

I was fit for my shoes, too.
I say I run for 2 hours, rn it's more like 1 hr running + 1 hr walking lol
I'm conisdering seeing if I can get physical therapy, do you think it would be worth it?0 -

It might be worth it, I can't say for sure.
One session can't hurt because then they can assess your knee and figure out if there is anything they (or you) can do.

If you have this chronic pain due to a lack of cartilege, you should really see your doctor to come up with a good plan. Jumping into 2 hour long runs (or even run/walk) is going to do more damage than it's worth.0

Even that is completely OTT for a beginner.
You'll get more benefit from more sessions per week for a significantly shorter period of time.
I'd suggest a Couch to 5K plan of some kind to ehlp you get to the stage of running for 30 minutes continuously then build from there.
