Hi all

I have searched the forums but I guess I'm, doing it wrong because I can't find what must be a really common topic: what counts as strength training?

I have been doing only cardio so far but am conscious that I need to include strength too. I do a pilates class once a week, and I'm not sure if that counts as strength or not?

Please can anyone recommend a good strength programme to start strength training? Preferably achieveable at home.

    Hi,

You can do body weight training such as Squat, Lunges, Push Up.. it's easy to do at home.

pilates, some yoga, weight lifting all count as strength training. if your heart rate doesnt get up too high and you use your msucles with some sort of resistance exercise its strength training

Thanks guys. It seems that most of the exercise I do involves strength to some extent and I hadn't realised it :)
