I think my wife may hate me!

About three weeks into this diet and doing well, but starting to struggle with wanting to eat all the time.
So, just to help out my wife decides to cook bacon this morning for our son. He didn't want it but she told him it was all that was on offer.

She said that, because she loves you. She didn't want you to have to eat it0

So I should quit my diet? Thanks for the advice.0 -
You can fit bacon into a diet. Just have a couple bits, and not tons, or have low calorie foods elsewhere to make up for the extra cals in the bacon. Otherwise look into turkey bacon, or back bacon where you can cut the fat off of. If you are starving all the time, I'd also suggest either reevaluating your calorie goals, or eating some some protein and fats to fill you up.
Dieting doesn't have to mean suffering.0 -

I'm not starving all the time, but miss the constant eating. Also, it is hell to try and eat a healthy breakfast when the house reeks of bacon!0 -
So, have a grilled bacon rasher or two with scrambled eggs (no fat) and baked beans! Healthy, protein packed breakfast. As you are male, you could get away with some toast as well! Healthy eating is more about adapting rather than denying!!0

After another three weeks, you can teach yourself not to notice the smell.
Alternatively, let her make bacon for you and work out how it fits into your calories for the day.

I don't understand why you can't fit bacon into your macros. Do you already eat a full days worth of fat with another meal?0

Maybe he isn't so far into into this new eating lifestyle that he can only eat one serving. When someone is used to eating all of the time it takes a while to be able to just stop eating after one serving. Especially when it is something that you really like eating.0

There's absolutely nothing wrong with eating bacon0 -

Tell your wife to only cook bacon once a month. It's too tempting!0 -
Like others have said, you can just fit the bacon in. Have it with some eggs if possible or something else as a serving of bacon on its own isn't very satiating. There's no better time to learn moderation than now...sounds like you are getting a crash course in it. But bacon is not off limits...no food is. Its not what's you eat but how much. Meat bacon all the time and have lost 75 pounds.0

2 pc bacon and 2 scrambled eggs..yummy breakfast. Now I'm sad that I don't have bacon.0

Actually calorie wise no, health wise there is. It's very bad for your heart. Also he needs to get accustomed to healthier fats. Once in a while is fine though.0 -
I eat bacon a couple of times a week. It's easy enough to eat a eeasonable portiin if you only cook one serving. It's not like you sit on the couch munching bacon straight out of the package. You have to make an effort to cook it first. Just make 2 or 3 slices.0

I bet your wife doesn't hate you! But if you don't want to eat bacon, resisting the temptation is your job. In fact, you're going to run into that situation all the time, not just in your own home. For instance, when you're at a restaurant and everyone is ordering dessert, when you're at a sporting event and everyone is eating nachos and hot dogs, when you go to the movies and everyone is getting popcorn and mega-sized candy... Sure, you can indulge sometimes, but it's your job to stay committed to your diet. One thing that helps me is to "pre-log" my food in MFP. So even if I smell bacon in the house, I already know I'm waiting for berries and yogurt later. If you feel the need to be "eating all the time" as you said, just plan out your food so you can eat frequently and still stay within your goal. Good luck!0

Why is bacon bad for a heart?

Healthy eating is more about adapting rather than denying!!
I just want to say I totally love the way you phrased that! +1 on the gist of it, although it is true that adaptation is easier for some than others. In that sense, if bacon is a trigger food for the OP or they cannot practice moderation with it, makes sense to avoid it for a while. Otherwise I agree there is nothing wrong with it as a food.0 -

Nobody is saying you should stuff yourself full with it daily. You can eat a classic Mediterranean-type diet and have bacon occasionally too. Nutrition is not an either | or thing in most cases, bar the obvious medical exceptions of life-threatening allergies etc.0 -

Why would you have to quit your diet to have bacon?
Source: On diet, had bacon this morning.0 -
My husband does not hate me and he made himself bacon yesterday.0
-
for crying out loud, eat a piece of bacon! why make yourself miserable?
my husband made bacon ONCE without making me any. i told him if he ever did it again, id stop buying it altogether.
a piece or two really isn't all that bad.0 -
I too do 3 strips of bacon several days a week paired with two scrambled eggs ... sitting at right about -75 on the scales right now since late summer. Just have to work it in and not eat a pile!

Lol I get it! Pre diet, I felt like I had to beg hubby to go to a restaurant for a meal with me...now? He's been a bunch of times, ordered pizza for take out, as well as requests junk food every time to go to buy more produce (which is often!). It's sad hubby and i can't be on the same page at the same time but I'm doing this for me, and for me alone, so regardless of his choices, I've been able to stay on track Good luck!0

Nothing wrong with bacon. You're a man. Surely you can fit a couple slices of bacon in your calories. I think you're looking at that 'diet' thing all wrong. Are you planning on never eating bacon ever again? It's a lifestyle change.0
-
2 slices of pan-fried bacon is like 100 calories. I get that people are concerned about the saturated fat in their diet, but unless you're eating a pack of bacon a day (or have pre-existing health concerns) you really don't need to worry. I eat a pretty high fat diet (and don't intentionally limit my saturated fats) and my triglycerides are fine.
Besides, it sounds like she made it for your son, not you. But if you are really seriously upset, have you tried talking to your wife? There are a bazillion threads on here with people claiming that their SO is trying to sabotage them, when all that is really happening is that the SO is just cooking, eating, and living their lives the way they always have, and the poster expects their SO to change their lifestyle because they did, or are trying to. And often the poster never made it clear to their SO that they now have different expectations. It really boils down to a lack of communication, and not expecting other people to change the way they eat or live just because you are. It can be a struggle, but it's also not fair to expect them to.
ETA: The first few weeks of changing your eating habits is often hard, but if you are really struggling with hunger that much, it might be time to reassess your intake and set a higher calorie goal with a smaller, more sustainable deficit. This whole process isn't going to work very well if what you're doing can't be maintained long-term.0 -
I think the poor man just wanted to *kitten* bc his wife knows hes on a diet lol. But doesnt mean she hates u lmao she probly wasnt even thinking0

There is nothing wrong with bacon and no reason you can't make it fit into your allotment. I had some this morning.0 -
Wait. No bacon?! I'm doing this horribly wrong! And I don't want to be right.0
